That inward-opening door to the garage I've been paranoid about since I got my truck finally bit me. My son had a sleepover and some over-exuberant kid slammed the door edge into my truck fender. :annoyed:

Any body shop guys know about what this is going to cost me to fix?

Well considering it is damage that wasn’t caused by another vehicle this could fall under your comprehensive insurance coverage.

Probably a couple hundred if I had to guess....looks like it might need some paint. Just an observation though.....you're in need of some new tires there buddy. :hattip:

That should be easily accessible from the inside to push it back out if they can’t do the suction cup thing. A little touch up paint and some clear and you’d be all set.

a good shop will tell you it’s going to be expensive to paint (because they’ll want to do it right and paint the whole fender). That should tell you that you want to be there. But I’d guess $300.

you might be able to push it out on your own with an old T-shirt wrapped around a broom handle. Some rattle can black paint and rattle can clear coat and you’ll be in it for $20. Just depends on the outcome you’re looking for. If you’re gonna do it your self. Sand and paint the inside of that fender where the crease was. You’ve probably opened some bare sheet metal.

I wanted to put a service door on the side of my garage but I wanted it to open outward so I didn’t have to worry about something like this, if it was to open inward I was thinking of putting a chain on it or some kind of stopper so it would not go all the way out and bang into my truck, maybe that would be an idea for you in the future, sorry about the damage

Yeah, that door will absolutely be opening outward in the near future.

Is the fact that the dent crosses 2 separate 'bends' in the sheet metal going to make a difference?

I want it fixed to where you can't see it. It's got some blue and red metallic flakes in the paint that make me worry about paint matching.

Then I’d take it to a shop and be prepared to introduce the owner to the Franklin triplets.

(Call your local dealer- they often send body work out, find out who they use)
