35 Skinnies, Do they exist?

Hello,
I'm looking at moving up to 35s in the not-so-distant future. I'd like to maintain my 17x7.5" factory wheels, so I guess I'm in the market for something skinnier than 12.50 wide tires. It looks like the only options are Super Swampers or T/A KO2s. I feel like I have to be missing a few other options here...

35X10.50 is a size. Not sure how hard to find.

 

Check out the Kenda Klever RT and Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT. The Klever is a 35x10.5x17 and the Mickey Thompson is a 255/85/17 (35x10x17).

Hmm. Those seem good, but I'd like an M/T. (sorry, should've mentioned that in my original post.)

 

I believe the Toyo Open Country AT III comes in a 35x11.5r20 ha. Random size and an AT, but…. also available, if I remember correctly.

285/75R18 is exactly that: a slightly taller—34.8 vs 34.5 (the true diameter of a 35), a skinnier 35 that requires no cab mount chop or cutting up fenders to fit with a 2” lift.
Edited to add: lots of options in this size, too, from Goodyear, Toyo, Falken, Yokohama, Nitto, and Cooper. But if you’re staying on 17s, there will probably be a lot fewer options.

Probably won't fit a 2004 the same way. I run 285/75/17 on my 05 DC and that is the max without way more work than I did.

 

Ahh. Yep. Didn’t see the 1st gen in the OP’s pic. Plenty o’ options for skinny 35s on an 18” rim, but if he wants to stay on 17s, probably far more limited.

 

My experience with the same truck in 2WD (in my case) is that a 275/70/17 fits all day long at least leveled up front. That's about a 32.2-4" at 10.4. A 33X10.50 should fit easy leveled as well. A 285/75/17 (33.7X11.2) takes some work, but is a great size. I run 3/4" spacers for frame rub, adjusted my bump stops, trimmed liners, hammered pinch welds, and stuff them without loosening my fenders...barely. A super skinny 35 is out there I believe that will work for 1st gen, but the up-travel is still a concern on turns for the fenders, unless we have a rad lift. So rad, 35" isn't a fit concern at all.

 

Close to full stuff on spaced bump stops and sub 34" tires. Not much room left on mine.

That's OK, I can never remember what state you guys are in. Unless it's CA. I just assume everyone else is in TX, AZ, TN or somewhere with snow.

 

I'm on 285/70r17s right now. The actual size is 32.9x11.70. Rocking the 17x7.5 +18 split-spoke wheels with 1.5" spacers, which is effectively 3.46 backspacing. I believe if I move to 1.25 spacers, it should actually increase my tire clearance, though I know when I go to 35s, I will have to tub my cab corners.

 

I think you got this if the tires are found, I'll try a search.

Kinda reviving a dead thread here, but I've nearly worn out my Maxxis Razr ATs at 21,000 miles. I believe I have an alignment issue causing premature wear, but we'll ignore that for now.
It looks like kenda has come out with their new KR629 MT2s which you can get in a 35x10.50r17 size. Really has me thinking about getting a set.
