I did think of that. Time to change. But… I guess I can’t yet post a pic featuring a “cool whip”. Or, wait a minute….

If anybody missed the group buy and is looking to buy at the group buy price let me know.

I have a set of two 187 whips that are 6’ each with magnetic bases, the controller and remote with a 10 foot 3 pin extension cable. I will take $374 shipped in the lower 48.

If I do not hear anything by tomorrow it is going back to 5150, this has never had power put to it. I found that my mounting location and method would not work. The rear of the truck was my plan to put it so if it will not work there then I don’t need it. I was given a RA number already but told them I would try to pass the deal along to another member.

Nobody needs this. But they’re awesome and fun, and potentially useful at an off-road party. Also, you’ll probably never get a better deal!

Boxing things up to ship back to 5150, with all the interest I figured someone was missing out. I get all my money back when I send it in but again was just trying to help members with the discount

Are you using their switch and harness, or do you have a switch system already? Doesn't really matter, wire the brake trigger (white if I recall). Personally, I would tape up the turn triggers and forget them.

Then it just comes down to where you put the controller. Mine's on my rack, others put it in the cab. Personal decision there. Inside the cab and you are more water proof and have better disco response from your radio. Close to the whip mount like mine and you have easier wire routing.

Mounted my controller in the cab in order to have the best audio response. This did require the purchase of two extensions from 5150 to route the wires the way I wanted.

I pulled the brake signal from the 3rd brake light under the driver’s door sill, and the turn signals from wiring I had previously run for my Opt7 Sidewinders. All of this was just as much of a pain in the ass as it sounds like.

Be aware that the turns and brake will NOT override any of the other scenes or effects. So if you’re bombing down the road with the whips already illuminated, turns and brake won’t function. This may or may not be an issue depending on your planned usage - just know the limitations when you’re deciding how much work to put into wiring them up.

I didn’t realize this. So even if I had it solid or flashing amber as a chase light, the brakes wouldn’t override? Seems kinda pointless for that application. I might still wire it in just to have.

@FrenchToasty has his brake light interrupt whatever else is going on…

Mine most certainly interrupts any of the scenes or functions, I think thats the purpose. I also figured out you can turn all channels off, but still have the brake light function

You’re gonna have to show me how to work this voodoo then. Mine do not override the effects. Totally possible that this is user error on my part somehow.

Did you hook up the corresponding colors to your proper inputs from brake and signals? A21AD0F9-1BF6-457A-B6C8-11F3F7433FB9.jpg
