    Ouch.
I honestly prefer the canister filter housing. Using the Motix drain tool and wrench set, I make way less mess dropping the Tundra filter housing than I ever have dropping a damn one-piece filter. I did switch to the aluminum housing, but that’s just preference more than anything - functionally it’s the same as long as it isn’t over-torqued.

Is switching to a spin on filter really worth risking your engine over the cartridge? Seems awfully risky for little gain. Understand the filter change is a tad annoying, but there are many ways to make it much easier/cleaner and the better route to go.

I have a Baxter Oil Filter Adapter and have no issues. How is your sway bar able to hit the oil filter? It shouldn't move in the area by the filter. Only on the ends where it is connected to the sway bar links.

First pic is of my sway bar and oil filter. You can see there is about a 3/4 of a inch of clearance

Second pic is one I found on the internet of a TRD like the one you have and it should have plenty of room as well. Plus the sway bar doesn't move in that area. I'm just trying to understand what you have happening and why its happening.

Other people on this forum reported using without issue. I purchased for the additional oil capacity, extra filer media, and not needing to have a special tool to do oil changes. Not to make oil changes cleaner, this won't help with that.

Happy Fourth to my Tundras .com family.

And with the Fourth coming upon us there are all these sales. I am needing more storage underneath the back seat for my 2021 SR5 and I was looking at the ESP Truck Accessories Tundra CrewMax Long Box Under Seat Storage for 2014-2021 that can be found here, https://www.esptruck.com/product-page/2014-2021-toyota-tundra-crewmax-long-box-under-seat-storage. With all the sales and 20% off it make this box some what affordable at under $675.00 with free shipping. So a couple of questions to the wisdom Gods of this forum, before I pull the trigger on purchasing this box.

    Two questions:

Q1 - Has anyone bought this one and is it worth it at this price point? (As I don't know what the price point was before the price hike.)

Q2 - Is there anyone in the Houston, Spring, Woodlands area who has installed this box willing to give me a hand in installing this monster of a box in my truck as I do not trust my self to not screw it up some how, lol? (And before someone asks, "Yes" I have been through the forum and read everything I can about the box and see the videos online, yet I still am not confident in my skills to do this with out someone helping me out."

And yes for someone who is willing to help out a NEWBIE fellow Tundra Owner, I will buy you a case of adult beverage of your choice and also lets go grab a steak dinner.

Thank you all for the great forum chat and lots of info from which I have learned so much and have so much more to learn.

    Doug.

Damn..... Nope I haven't had any issues with mine at all 3 weeks ago drove from Pittsburgh down to Myrtle Beach and back and not a single issue. I'm running a Toyota D3 Filter one mine and the TRD Sway Bar! I've got like 2,600 miles on it so far.

Sounds like fun, wish I could help but alas, I've never installed one. You'd probably have better luck with a local person in the Texas regional subforum.

It’s a great box and install is easy. Really only time two people are needed is pulling the seats out and putting them back in.

I’ma long ways from Houston, or I’d offer

I’m extremely happy and as I thought cleaning is much easier than others wheels. Also they stand out as “different” it seems like all the other after market wheels are of similar designs.

IMG_2783.jpg Out with the old and in with the new. Wife was driving a few weeks ago and hit a Vulture that was feasting on a dead deer near the side of the road. She was mid-pack of 6 cars and was the lucky one. The hood bulge broke all the plastic tabs holding the clips and 3 10mm bolts. Replacement was around 240.00. I tried to epoxy the old one with no luck, so in the trash it goes.

I like the clamp idea. I used zip ties but that looks more clean. Question. How much slack did you leave near the breather. And did you tie it down to the brake line clamps over the differential?

Yes it’s heavy duty, powder coated, comes in 4 pieces, has its own security bit, vent slits for heat dissipation, also looks really good

I wonder if it would work with an RCI engine skid plate…
    :monocle:
I’ve really been considering the RCI cat set-up, but man, yours looks like it covers those rear cats WAY better than the RCI…

Put these on about a week ago while also removing my Hellwig rear sway bar, to see if the RAS does as good a job with roll as the sway bar. Used the white chip. I drove it aggressively around some very tight turns, and in my ass’ opinion not much of a difference in roll. So, I think I’ll post my Hellwig sway bar for local pickup.

+3 CB shackle. My leafs took a beating hauling a couple of full pallets of top soil last year, and the RAS not only returned them close to stock leaf curvature, but offers some roll control too, so I removed the sway bar. Plus they’re adjustable, allowing me to control how aggressive the rake is. Definitely worth the money to me.

I like the look and hear good things about them, but everytime I go to their site and have them in my cart, I can't get over the price. I'll eventually get them, but man, the price for four blocks of aluminum.....
