    yep bank account is running low from it..
    Do to the cast iron and the non smooth bore inside the headers really slows down the exhaust in turn decreases hp and torque. Where trd for example the exhuast cant slow down. One more thing i will add with aftermarket headers they cool down faster than with the OEM ( cast iron) headers, in turn when going down the road the headers will get cooler helping the engine out breathe more correctly.

    Like your mod list. My 07 has the stock exhaust manifolds and they are stainless steel 4 to 2 to 1 tubes and are equal length to each cylinder. That was one of the selling points for 5.7L when it first came out. All you have to do is remove the shielding and you can verify it. I was pleasantly surprised when I checked. Not sure how much more you can gain with aftermarket headers. Maybe another 10 or 15 hp? which is good. With the tuner and aftermarket long tube headers and exhaust, I would think you could maximize for even more decent gains. The tail gate lock is cool too. $99 not bad.

    Ask your self these questions. Are you going to supercharge it? Alot of heavy towing? Or any heavy demands on the engine where needed at high revs?

    If you answered yes 2 out of 3 then you have your answer in a nut shell.

    Ive been looking at headers for my 2010 and haven't been able to sort out the dilema of weather I should get short or long tube headers. What are some of the pros and cons? I feel like the long tube style would breath better than the short tube style. If funds allow me I would love to get the Doug Thorley long tube headers. If anyone wants to buy a Leer topper with Thule roof rack and some add ons let me know! hahahaha
    I should probably check under it a bit more incase it already has headers on it :homer:

    I have the DT Long headers and mid pipes installed last week and totally love them. More power, awesome sound... They'll turn any truck into beast mode! Check my build on page 3 for some sound clips.

    Why did you go with the DT long headers as opposed to the JBA long tubes or even the short tube style? I'm not going to go too crazy with the exhaust right now. Just looking to help it breath a little better.

    Doing a little research, it just seemed this was the more popular route, and my install shop also recommended long. Here is an article from another Tundra page that describes it a little. http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/short-vs-long-tube-headers/

    Just had my tailgate lock fail on me and after a quick chat with manufacture, I found out that there is a slight difference in bracket with 14-15 years change. Just an FYI
