My current view at this very moment… “Mr. Pete” is my kids’ cat but follows me around and never leaves me alone. Ever.

That’s “Cinderella,” my daughters cat. I call her Cindy so no one can take my man card. Daughter is a nurse and just bought her first home, so now I have two critters that follow only me around.

    Excellent.
I did a lifetime in a sheet metal fabrication shop (HVAC) and I though your liner might be heavy gauge stainless steel of some sort.
I never really gave it much thought but having the scalloped edge is both functional and decorative ~ good idea !
Most of the commercial fire pit liners have a flange to the outside that rests on the top of the surround. Of course, these are the store-bought and not a custom unit like yours.

Nice to have that kind of space on your property. Folks around here could only dream of such.

There's one thing I miss about retirement ~ I no longer have access to a full-on fabrication facility.
I never had my own workshop or many tools at my house ~ I never needed them. Many of my projects were done at the shop.

Good job with that fire pit ! :)

A stray cat recently adopted me and started coming in my house. He liked laying on my mousepad so I got him a box so he could sit near me when I’m gaming

I noticed his toebeans look a little rough but that rough life is behind him now. :)

That's awesome. The pets that find you are usually special characters.

Not sure it'd help, but you might try one of these for his pads if he'll allow it.

Heck, just some coconut oil might help a little, but IDK if it's safe for cats off the top of my head.

This is Bob. He’s a polydactyl that we rescued last hear. He’s really social and loves to lay belly up throughout the house.

I built one years ago that was 18” pipe and had a full size pipe flange for the lip (which is 1-1/2” thick). It was recessed down into the ground about 12” and stuck up 6”. A Weber grill grate and lid fit on top. That flange would hold the heat for hours after the fire was out.

Our company just got into the sheet metal side of HVAC about 4 years ago - we’ve been doing pipe and plumbing since 1923 (not me, obviously).

Rescued a 6 week old Kitten 2 1/2 weeks ago. Her name is Steve. My bad, thought she was a he lol.

It was bouncing around the house, then within about a day, poor thing was dying. I can’t even spell the virus she has, but Vet wanted to admit her starting at $3,000.

Unfortunately, not gunna happen, but we opted for out patient care. Still in it $700 and we have to do something every 2hrs.

I think she’s turning around. My Girlfriends medical assistant training in coming in handy lol.

I actually rent the little girl out to my mom to catch and kill roaches at her house, she’s a good hunter.

I don't know about everybody else, however, at my house we use more blankets on the bed during the summer than the winter. This is so we can conserve on-peak power at a higher price than off-peak power to reduce our power bill. We "super cool" our house at night down to 64° F. At 1:00 PM the A/C turns off and will not come back on until 8:00 PM.
