It should be here by tomorrow. Should I just give it a quick wipe down with detail spray or anything for the sides I didn’t get to for purposes of removing dust?

Eraser at the most. Don’t put anything else on it.

Wipe it down with a clay lube meant for claying gently then use IPA again and coat.

It just makes sure the surface is free of oils or anything else. So yes it helps it stick better

Yup. Degreaser basically. Alcohol based means it evaporates leaving a real clean surface.

I found this article the other day where the guy used detail spray (?) then ceramic. Any reasoning behind it or harm he did?

Edit: Im looking for it to reference
2nd edit: I can only find other info that contradicts it saying it won’t stick. Hopefully he strips it all down and re-does it

Pointless and won't let the coating bond properly. Wasted product.

Should it be 10-20 drops per panel of Undrdog typically or what have you been doing to work best / evenly

I've done coatings 3 times. I've done about 5-10 drops each time (first time is typically 10 or so to help "prime the applicator"). I've done a van, truck, and sequoia. Each time with a 30ml bottle and have had at least a lil left over. Enough to do at least another panel if I felt I need to redo it or anything

@Ckatz53 @ToyoMafia @Fotnot Just wanted to recognize you all for the great information and advice in this thread over the past few days.
@T-Rex266 , thanks for bringing up this topic. I'm sure I'm not the only one following along with your experience. None of my projects ever follow textbook rules; always a 'oh s#!t' moment somewhere. Great to see everyone jumping in to help out.
It's also made me change my thoughts on a DIY ceramic coat from 'nope' to 'considering it'.. Great group of ppl in here!

I leaned on this thread and members when doing my first coating. My boss had called me twice this morning because he's coating his truck this weekend. I always love to help when and where I can.

I’m always down to help. My first coating took me two days and a lot of worrying. I questioned every step of the process. The detail threads and it’s members always had my back and I’m here to pay it forward. I can knock a coating out by noon now and I absolutely enjoy the process. I get excited to see guys jumping in to do one as well.

just another thing that makes this forum so damn special.

Not just this thread, but this forum always has so many helpful members. I just get my best to keep the shitheads off of it and always lookout for those who give us such helpful and contributing posts. I appreciate @ToyoMafia @Ckatz53 and @Fotnot for guiding me. There’s always so much new shit on the market, and new ways to do things it’s hard to keep up!

Assuming you're about to coat it, you clean it really well and ipa wipedown before coating to remove any oils again

Should be fine. Not sure if you have any water spots or anything. But yea, clean with your window cleaner to make it as bare as possible, then IPA wipe and then coat it.

When this is all done, move outside to the sun and leave it or keep in the garage until Monday?
