Done a couple of trades, but I'd have to go with Pliney, and Heady Topper as far as IPA's go.... but my go to is always a cold Guinness!
P.S. If you haven't tried the Nitro Coffee Guinness, go get some ASAP.

I'm sure I'll catch hell for this, but I can't stand IPAs. :smack: More of an light/dark ale kind of guy. My go-to is usually something like Killian's, Modelo Negra, etc. Though I have to say I enjoy the hell out of some Schlafly's Raspberry Hefeweizen.

(I'm also partial to a cold Guiness; wife's favorite drink is a black & tan.)

I bought 4 bottles of Westvleteren, the rarest beer in the World, several years ago. Brewed by Trappist monks, it was brought to the US briefly when the monks were funding a new monestary. Fruity, strong, and nice to share a bottle with someone on a very special occasion. Another foreign brew I really like is Tripel Karmeleit.
For “normal” consumption, I prefer lighter, filtered beers, so my go to are usually pilsners, as a lot of IPA’s are “hazy”, brewspeak for unfiltered. I have found a craft brewery in Asheville, NC, Wicked Weed. They brew an IPA, Pernicious, that has become my favorite.

I'm not much of a beer drinker, I do enjoy a Dos Equis or Liveoak Hefeweizen occasionally.

I prefer straight whiskey in a glass at room temp. My favorite lately has been Rabbit hole

In the olden days I'd knock out a small project for another guy from work ~ I'd ask them to surprise me with a 6-pack of beer as a payment.

There's only a few beers that I really don't care much for ~ I enjoy trying different brews. Currently my go to is an ice-cold Coors, the beer I drank as a kid.

The Craft Beer industry has exploded in the last 25+ years. There's something out there for everyone these days.

A good summer beer for me is the Sculpin Habanero and the Sculpin Pineapple mixed together. Believe the habanero was discontinued though.
The Rabbit Hole aged in the sherry casks is goooood.

Very true. Only issue with that is the whole craft beer hipster thing. I don't care HOW good or rare some brew is...now someone pops up to say "Well, yeah, that's *OK* but you probably haven't heard of...." LOL I hear that a lot from friends in Seattle/Tacoma/etc.

Scrimshaw is a delicious Pilsner from North Coast. Their Blue Star wheat is also good.

My go to brew when I'm working on anything and it's hot is Colorado KoolAid (that's right boys drink it up it's like water and just as refreshing) but when we hit the local breweries, I like anything light like pilsners. Dark or heavy beers are too filling. I do like mead and just found out the closest brewery to us makes its own

It's our spot after a hard workout lol

Whatever this forum told me to do
    <I did 10yrs at Anheuser Busch>

yup - >80% of all beer sold is American Light Lagers.

we sold all kinds of other crap. but the lighter tasting beers pay the bills.

the foo-foo crap is just that.

and don't get me talking about freshness.....

Don't know how anyone can drink Buttwiper!

I used to work for Andrews Distributing in the Dallas Ft Worth area and they handled the distribution of Coors, Miller, Corona, Guinness, etc... also did a stint with Red Bull.

You hit the nail on the head with the lighter stuff paying the bills.

I used to be super into IPAs, and all kinds of craft brews - over the past couple of years I've really started settling into lighter, more session-able beers. My go to at home is a nice Mexican lager, usually Corona Extra, Modelo, Pacifico; or more likely "Buenaveza" by those recent sellouts at Stone Brewery.

Oh, one other beer I didn't mention. Is I absolutely used to love Newcastle; then Lagunitas started brewing it stateside, and "re-imagined" it into being complete garbage.

Very early on I was into saisons, Belgian quads and triples, then got into ipas, then NE IPAs with the whole haze-chase, juice wolf thing but got kind of tired of that. Near unlimited access to “Other Half brewing” kind of does that for you. Did sours for a while. I’ll still order a hazy from a a local brewery here in town because I know the brewer and he gives me a heads up when he’s got something new or about to tap one of my faves. But other than that, I’ll just take the blue ribbon all day everyday.
