Oh crap, I almost forgot. This finally happened yesterday on my way home from Micro Center. I hadn't been driving for a few weeks.

Quick tag to @abcinv, not sure if you've already rolled out of the 73k range yet.

Dude, I'll be over 75k by mid-July :(. Between me driving to the land (~320 miles round trip monthly), driving to Lexington Ky to help move my daughter (~ 950 miles) and my daily beater for work being in the shop for ~ 2 weeks (75 miles a day round trip X 5) I'm killing my truck...

Oh to be in the low 70's again.

I can picture about 90% of the 1st gen section laughing at this little bit of chatter

I want to be putting more miles on the truck. Just don't have time or cause to drive. Which has been easier on the wallet.

Here lately if I'm taking short trips, I take the Highlander, it gets 3x the mpg and I don't care if anyone hits us in it. Truck only gets pulled out to haul things or if a long trip is required where I can get some oil wash across stuff in the crankcase.

My 3rd gen Tacoma is stalled out at 50k miles. Since I have the 2nd Gen to daily. Maybe I’ll be competitive down the road with the low miles club.

Camp for the last few days, it rained pretty good the entire time C9A465C5-B535-4B5D-901F-915B29CC398F.jpg
I haven’t had a good nap in like 5 years….. I wasn’t going to let some stupid bugs bother me, it started lightly raining, best 10 minutes ever!!!

Killed it on the lake as usual, even from the “dock” we were doing good, my son kept saying “no I want to fish from land!”

Thats where my 1st gen Taco is getting since parking it as the DD 6 years ago. Unfortunately that lower milage motor is worth a lot less in such a heavily modified truck. I keep thinking maybe I need to pick up another with mlre miles and do a swap or something.

Hahaha they are great! Yeah usually they work best with a hat on. I’ve had it in my small green backpack for years, waiting for that exact moment

There's a creek that I camp at near San G that always has biting flies so the net always gets used there. I found these things with similar material that go over the truck window so you can roll it down without getting bugs inside. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07QM3CXJ7?ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Yeah we had something similar on the runner for the kids being attacked by the harmful suns rays. They kept it nice and dark, and I totally thought about being able to use those while camping

Also I totally forgot to post the coolest picture, my son, of course, found a snake on the trip! It was either a timber rattler or a twin spotted rattler(we’ve got some snake experts in the shadows…..) thankfully he knew not to pick it up. It was at our lookout so I was on edge every time we went back.

hanged the front diff and transfer case fluids.

Can’t believe I managed to unfasten this. A bad person owned this truck before me.

My favorite-smelling compressed air revealed some good sized chunks. Sigh. 4wd works great though and I exercise it regularly.

my son got Covid just as he was getting back into training after knee surgery. So my wife took him camping. I have no idea why my tent in the background looks like it wants to eat something.

    I see a dog butt!!!!
My dad had a similar camp chef or whatever propane burner like you’ve got, I refuse to carry such a beast!!!
How do you guys like the antelope?!
Our other friend came with us, and busted out all kinds of new gear, I think she learned a few things…….. she left after the 1st night, or other friends left after the second night when our dog plowed their son and got a small cut on his head, I was kinda pissed at the dog and who was in charge of him; almost left the next morning, but I’m glad we stayed. We mainly left because we were using our friends blackstone and it left……. And we ran out of ice. But damn I made some dank dillas on this tiny cast iron! 97D4A4BB-CE80-41C8-B0E1-3C7BF0247419.jpg466ED68B-24F2-45C7-9630-EB16399F2306.jpg

I haven't had antelope yet, but I hear it tastes like chicken.
Turns out the dog can't swim. But, he's coming to San G
That Camp Chef rocks. I tried to send her with the Bayou, but she's too classy for that.
Those are man hands, much like my toads.

    Antelope/gazelle……. Same same…….

our new pup definitely liked the zero entry at the lake, but his healing incisions made us not let him go balls deep…..

That tent is bigger than I imagined in pictures. In it's bag, it's basically large eazy-up size. has an 8X8 footprint I believe. But, it's pretty awesome. If it's just me and or the dog, so much room for activities. Set up and take down is fast...

    Is it “self erecting”?
I have a rei half dome plus 7? And then a little bigger tent, but they all suck to set up, this big one pictured is a little easier with no poles, but it’s bulky as well.
I also have the worst method to my madness of packing the truck? Casper and Des have seen the mayhem in action……
When your wife goes by herself or with the boy, will she take your truck?

Also my dad was a wood worker, we deemed his paws, “banana fingers”
One Easter he was making poinsettia holders? And wrapped his meats around a drill press. Later we found THE BIGGEST POTATOE CHIP of a finger on the shop floor!!!!
My left hand in a dough sheeter; like father, like son!!!

It's not the throw and watch it self deploy kind of thing. It's the pull it apart/wider, pull on each side, push up the top kind of thing. And then, put the fly canopy on top if you want.
She likes her Tahoe, she takes that without me there. I've alway's had small spaces to deal with, packing is planning - that's all (take a few moments you spaz)

That's pretty gross. Really. That's gross. But I love how you made me visualize a piece of finger flesh as a potato chip. Now I can't unsee what I never saw.
