+1 on the URD fuel pump instructions. Did that mod on the Tacoma last year and it was pretty thorough. Pump housings look the same

Also if the tundra tank and pump lid are.the same as the taco, don't even try using a strap wrench. Use a large flathead or something similar and hammer to tap on the fins or ridges of lid to loosen it initially

Yes, a big block is about 31" long, 31" tall, 27" wide (incld manifold), I think 3UR is not as tall but the width is wider due to dohc, but then, with that costs how far can you take our engine? I'm just saving up for the fully built block now and just aim for 700-800hp, I can't imagine it'll still be a relaxing drive at 1000+hp.

You must have had enough of your buddy’s TRX and you’re ready to throw down. Does this mean you’re upgrading to a larger blower, or are you getting creative with smaller blower pulleys and a larger under drive pulley to spin the magnuson into orbit?

Logic says = build the bottom end, run smaller pulley and up the fuel system until IAT is too hot, then run bigger charger, but math says 1900 should be good up to 700ish hp.

Heart says = bottom end, motec, bigger charger all at once.

Honestly, my goals is just very simple, same drivability and reliability as now, just want to run 11s in the 1/4 while being within budget, it's hard to convey how all this all makes perfect sense, cause next closest thing is a TRX, but those things drive like a damn elephant in a china shop, I still head into city on regular basis, a TRX won't fit anywhere and no one seems to be able get above 11mpg, Hummer EV is $200k+ here and wait list is 2+ years, Rivian/Ford Lightning tow range is laughable, so a 11s Tundra crewmax that has mid travel and booming stereo = most logical supertruck!

Here are Step-by-Step instructions from Harrop, start at page 24
    https://www.harrop.com.au/shop/system/download/190808_HARROP_Tundra_Install.pdf

In addition, I would recommend cutting off the nipple at the bottom and drilling out the hole to 3/8" as well as drilling 2-3 other holes higher than the filter sock will sit inside the canister (I drilled mine just above the taper on the canister)

Here is how mine looks after my upgrades:

Two 450's in the bottom of the canister:

Everything connected, two outputs, one return, two plugs and sender wiring

Friction, the lines press them down with the filter socks preventing them from moving side to side

The boost gauge has to get teed in where the boost reference port is for the FPR. Follow the line from the FPR and it should be connected to a barbed fitting on the drivers side toward the rear of the blower. You’ll have to remove the barbed fitting and pipe it in with a tee and some fittings. Couple different opinions on where to put the AFR o2 sensor bung, mine is on the drivers side a little downstream of the primary o2 sensor. You’ll want to remove the mid pipe with the cats on it in order to drill it and weld it so you don’t get metal shavings in your cats and cause got spots that will kill them. It will also be easier to do on a bench than that hard to reach area on the truck.

Does anyone know the exact gear oil I should be using for my 2nd gen truck? The dealership using BG service but not sure if that’s good. I need 4x4 service with front and rear differential and transfer case. They also said I’m leaking in the rear when they did my multi-point inspection

I did passenger side clocked over from the OEM sensor. Iirc the passenger side was easier to pull so why I did it there.

I put mine on the drivers side since that’s the side of the prone to failure cylinder #5. I don’t recall if the passenger or driver side fuel rail gets fed first, but the one that gets fed 2nd would probably be good to monitor just for the fact that it would make sense that it could be leaner than the other bank. I guess a dual wideband would be the most ideal to keep an eye on both.

Testing something out. I kept getting the P0101 code intermittently and having to reset it. I’d also occasionally get a situation where under a full throttle situation the truck would just totally cut power as if I let off the gas. I’d take my foot off and continue driving as usual and it was as if nothing happened, and it didn’t trigger any codes and was not easily repeatable. I decided to take the P0101 at face value instead of thinking of a more complex cause, so I cleaned it today with the designated cleaner and let it dry. I just took a little test drive with lots of spirited driving and had no issues or codes. I’ll have to see if that’s all it was this whole time.:monocle:

After my recent experiences with the Hilux, I can attest that codes can cause the weirdest fucking shit possible that no one has ever heard of. Hopefully you got it solved and it was a byproduct of the MAF being unhappy.

If I'm squinting at this hard enough, I'd say that the passenger side gets fueled first. That's where the Fuel Pressure Regulator is located.
Edit: See @armyoffoo's post for correction.

Isn't that one of the codes that can also suggest that the MAF is hitting 5V? Are you able to monitor that on a scanner?

Stock feeds the driver's side front to back, crosses over to passenger side feeding back to front, return is after fuel pressure regulator.

That’s what some people say, but the actual code for that instance is p0103. P0101 I believe is more for the MAF being out of range or the LTFT being plus or minus 15%. DAP thinks I was getting it from exceeding the MAF voltage and sent me a tune with p0101 deleted to try, which I haven’t flashed yet for testing purposes. I get it just normal driving all the time at not full throttle so I shouldn’t be reaching that 5 volts under normal circumstances. I’ve seen it sit at 5 volts on my data logs during hard pulls, but I still never got the P0103 from it. It kind of seems unrelated to the MAF voltage. I’ll see if it comes back at all in the coming days as even a pending code.
