Yeah, it's not a pain you can really work through. At least I can't.

Chronic dehydration is the big risk. One week low on water shouldn't hurt you.

^ That is EXACTLY what it feels like.
Not only a stabbing pain, but it's like they twisted the knife while it's in your back.

We are talking about rolling around on the floor trying to make it stop.
But that doesn't make it stop.

When the wife took me to the ER this last time, they immediately gave me IV meds.
They asked if it still hurt I said "fuck yes it still hurts".
Then they gave me another drug in my IV.
5 seconds in I told the nurse "Dude you better slow down".
I don't know what they gave me but it fucked me up.
I was hot, flush, confused, and flying.
But I didn't feel any pain....
He put the rest of it in my IV bag.

My wife was with me and she told me she has never seen me that messed up in the 15 years we've been together.

I went home and slept it off.
Fortunately, that pain never came back...

I declined the narcotics - never seem right when I’m on them, so I’m on tylenol. They gave me the same size breakdown before the CT scan - this one is 2.3mm, which makes me feel like a pussy for how badly it is fucking with me. It’s at the UVJ according to the scan. No mention of others thank god

worst part has been not being able to stomach much water - I threw up three times at the urgent care (a bit clear water). I’ve been managing to get some down after I got home, but not enough to dilute and purge.

I forgot about the throwing up part.
I had that back in the day.
This last time I got really nauseous, I think they gave me something for that in the ER.
But I did ask for a barf bag when I got to the ER, I still have it on my desk..

Once a stone that small gets into your bladder, I doubt you'll notice passing it.
Unless they have you straining your urine.
Hopefully, the worst is over for you.

Over the years I'll feel a tinge and my back and tell my wife in case she finds me bent over in pain.
But this last one I didn't tell her about it because I didn't see her with our work schedules..
Sure enough, that was the one that did me in.

I had a tinge about 16 years ago and felt a little something in my back.
No pain, but just odd sensations.
I was in a movie theater bathroom taking a piss and I actually heard a very small stone hit the porcelain urinal.

Not sure that it would be easier to handle, but try some Pedialyte if you can stomach that; it will help w/hydration and minerals.

Actually have read distilled water. You don’t want any minerals - that’s what has caused the problem to start with…

While I now live in AZ I'm really from TX. I grew up eating cornbread with our chili. I would guess you could eat any kind of bread with chili but I'm still partial to cornbread and not the sweet cornbread.

I was thinking cornbread is more traditional. Apparently Mrs Punishment's mom does garlic bread but I don't think she's ever even been to Texas.

After reading the last few posts I have decided that I don't ever want to have a kidney stone. This is why I drink at least 10 beers a day. Beer is mostly water, water means hydration which means no kidney stones.

Rumors from the 1990s was cranberry juice is good for kidney stones.

Texting my sister the last couple of weeks, she has had kidney stones too, she heard lemons and lemon juice is good for them as well..
Allergy breaks the stones down, which I don't believe.

Are Lemons Good for the Bladder and Kidneys? | livestrong

    That being stated;
I cut up lemons and limes every Sunday to take in my lunch daily during the week.
I squeeze and drop them into the 32oz iced tea I buy every morning.
I sip on the tea all day.
Note that tea isn't recommended for people prone to kidney stones.

Did drinking iced tea really cause my kidney stones? - (kidneystoners.org)

Anyway, I end up eating the flesh off the skin of these lemons and limes daily.
Yet, I still had another stone...:eek2:

My stones were analyzed 30 years ago.
I had to do a 24-hour urine sample, what a PITA that was being at work.

They said they were made up of calcium oxalate.
    Calcium?
I stopped drinking milk in my late 20s and the only dairy product I eat is a little cheese on a sandwich or Mexican food.
The chart in the second link shows tea to be the least of my worries with my diet..

    I know you'll get better.
    Drink lots of fluids..
Hopefully, this is one and done....

My wife makes the cornbread when we eat it.
I cook everything else, but she makes great cornbread.
She HATES the sweet stuff too.
We tossed chopped jalapenos (a mix of fresh and pickled) in the last batch and it was awesome.
