I may give that credit card a try. It tops out the 5 percent at $1800 I believe. My point above is that oil like every commodity is cyclical. It will be back down to $60/bbl at some point in the next 3-5 years. At best you’re spending an extra $1500 over the year on fuel and that’s if you drive 20k miles and average 13 mpg. I’m an oilman and even I don’t like $120 oil.

Yeah, I've used both a debit card and credit card at Costco with no pump shut off after $100 on either. I just got the Costco Anywhere Visa that gives 4% cash back on gas so I'll be using that from now on.

When I got my Visa card from Costco the lady was explaining that their card gives you 4% cash back on gas from anywhere as well but only if the locations credit card code is listed as a gas station and not a convenience store or something, she said that's how they know if you bought gas or something else. I'd assume Sam's is the same.

I filled mine up to 35.6 gallons the other day. The pump cut off at $150, so maybe it could have gone further. I'm not sure how many miles I went between the gas light coming on and fill up.

Still holding 25000+ shares of CDEV, started buying at .29 in April of '20. Popped to 9.30 a couple of weeks ago.
Looking for that quarter million in gains and I'll get out, it's gotten close.
Holding others too, but have sold some of those.

With the money we've made on oil stocks not going to complain about gas prices. Biden talks about O&G greed, many of those small caps have been living thin for many years.

I didn’t know you could use credit at Costco gas stations.

The only aftermarket tank I would consider buying is Long Range America. Made in Australia and has been proven.

That's correct! 7-Eleven, Sinclair, Maverick, Chevron and the likes. You won't get the rebate on gas purchased at Sam's, Grocery stores with gas stations, etc...

VISA credit card only; yes! And any debit card with a pin.

    That's also correct!

After learning that I can go many more miles than my truck states from this thread, I decided to try for myself. I didn't track how many miles, though, and I ran out of gas! Thankfully, I ran out right in front of my house. I grabbed my trusty gas can from the shed and poured about 3 gallons in the tank and drove on. I filled the tank this morning with 36.5 gallons.

I have one. It's been around longer than the LRA, so IDK how the LRA has been "proven". Made in the USA as well. Been on since 2018. I'm off road regularly. I only fill it like half way because I primarily WFH. I used to live in FL and would fill it before hurricanes. I could have driven to TN on one tank if needed. Range can be over 700 miles on full. NO, your DTE won't work and it will never learn.

If you think about a 5 gallon gas can, then think about how long the 38 gallon tank is, spread that 5 gallon gas can across the whole tank, it might only be an inch or 2 deep of gas. So while frustrating that it seems to only take 31 or 32 gallons to fill, the tank really is low on fuel. If you actually wanted to fill 37 gallons, 1 gallon of gas spread out over the entire surface area of the tank would be sucking fumes like TRDburglar haha. Just trying to think of this logically since it seems to be a common complaint.

It hurts. I've ways joked that if you buy a $50,000.00 truck you shouldn't bitch if gas prices get high...and if it affects you that much, you really couldn't afford a 50k truck to begin with. With that being said, I've been putting $180.00 worth of gas in my truck every 4 to 6 days and it's beginning to make me think about my options.

What do you need to fuel up at Costco? I have the membership, but my gas cards are AMEX or Master Card. Since they only take Visa at the register I don't wanna get in line for 30 minutes and then find out I don't have the right card for it.

Someone needs to run their truck out of fuel and see how much it takes to fill the tank so we can put this to bed.

I just drove from Houston to Harrisburg, PA … only had to fill twice. Low fuel light came on at about 560 miles just past Meridian, MS and took a little over 32G. I forget where the second fill was, it’s all a blur. Very happy to average 17.5mpg traveling 70-75mph.

Can hit 20mpg from Houston to hill country with a tail wind, but more realistically 18.5.

It is nice with city driving that I only have to fill up once a month. My commute to work is 6.2 miles and get 12-14 depending if I want miles or smiles per gallon.

Sorry for the late reply, been kind of MIA around here.
Costco gas has the same requirement as the warehouse. You need to use Visa unless it’s a debit card then Mastercard is ok. I’m not sure about Amex but I don’t think they accept them.

I want to know what I’m doing to not get this kind of fuel economy on highway travel. Max I’ve ever gotten is just under 17, long range drive, cruise, all highway.

Do you have hills in your area? If so, it's probably the cruise control.
