So I can't get the rails for my cover to sit low enough to be flush with the bed on one side. I even loosened the side accessory rail and tried to push it down as far as I can. Not sure what else to do aside form literally grind some of the rail off the bottom so it sits flush.

Yakima pulled all their inventory from the third party warehouses so that is why so many dealers are not able to get their products either! I heard that Yakima is focusing on OEM parts.

Just put on this hard sided tri-fold is a generic no name off ebay paid $318 + tax. I'm super impressed with it for the money, its solid goes on and off easy, its not flush mount OEM, but doesn't cost $1300 either. 20220629_133730.jpg 20220629_133814.jpg 20220629_133913.jpg

Super happy with the Access Tonnosport.
I have a very, very hard time believing paying more for another brand soft top would be worth paying more for.
The fit is extremely impressive for $300.
I was concerned at first that I couldn’t get the bed rails quite low enough to sit totally flush, but in the end it didn’t matter. They’re about 1/8” or so higher than flush but the sides still come down enough to make contact with the top of the bed and you can’t even tell it’s not perfect.
It rains basically every day here in South Louisiana in the afternoons this time of the year so it shouldn’t be long before I can see how it does in the rain.I don’t expect it to be 100% waterproof. If it stop 90% of the rain, I’ll be perfectly happy with that.

REI just 3 miles down the road from me said they can get the Yakima HD bars and Overhaul HD truck rack. I'm not interested but that may be an option.

I slapped my gator trifold from my 2021 tundra on in a pinch. I had a trip to the coast and we were expecting rain. We got HEAVY rain and despite the 1/4' gap at the end near the tailgate, my stuff stayed dry for the most part. I'd like to get something that fits but I may work to weather proof it enough for my climate (high desert) and spend my money on steps or other stuff for now.

Pretty sure it's the same basic model they just include some extra foam pieces for the 22, wouldn't be hard to find something similar.

I don't generally like to half ass stuff but I think I can live with a modified tonneau for a while. Especially if I can effectively seal it up.

I kind wish I'd taken a photo of the pieces for you, hopefully whoever else here buys one next can do it but it's literally just two little pieces of foam the close the the gap that I pointed out in this post:

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/2022-tonneau-covers.101527/page-21#post-2813184

Would be pretty easy to find something at any hardware store for a couple of bucks and you'll have something just as nice as a new one.

Yeah I think any outdoor weather strip would work with some experimentation, I bought this to go a bit further as I've found the tailgate let's in a crapload of dust when offroad, it would work on the tonneau gaps as well.

So it has been absolutely POURING down hard all day today.
I have an extremely minimal amount of water in the bed. As in the entire bed is completely dry except a few drips here and there around some edges.
I’d be 100% comfortable driving through any rain with luggage, etc in the bed and wouldn’t be worried about it in the slightest.
I’m very, very impressed for $300 since it seems some of the $1,000+ hard tops can’t even seal this good.

I have a diamondback hd I plan on putting on if my truck will ever comes in. Haha. I put a set of Yakima crossbars on it for bikes and possibly kayaks. Will post pics of it on the truck when it arrives…. One day!

Has anyone else noticed that once you put one of the tri fold, flush mount bed covers on, that wonderfully engineered rail system is useless? The cleats with the big round tightening knob will no longer fit. Have automobile manufactures just quit testing or doing R&D? They just shove them out the door and see what happens?

They work with my Retrax Pro XR. They didn't work with my UnderCover Tri-fold which is one of the reasons I ditched it.

I've had an Extang Exceed and Bakflip F1 on my 22 and the rail system works fine with both covers.

I'm a big fan of TruXedo... have had them on all my trucks. Had bought off on having the factory cover since it was on the build sheet.. but when the truck arrived... the cover had been removed due to a recall. So back to square one and TruXedo. The only difference this time was thinking I was going to have the factory cover I sold myself on the "hard" cover... so ordered the TruXedo Sentry CT which is a roll-up with aluminum slats so it's a 'hard' cover with the soft look. I ordered on a Monday night and had it on Wednesday afternoon with their 'ground' shipping! I really like the look.

make sure you are utilizing the brackets correctly. The bakflip F1 has you remount the deck rail system down and inch or two.

I have had two retractable bed covers - both from Truck Covers USA. That model and the retrax pro aluminum are the only two I'd spend the money on. I prefer the retrax pro because it isn't spring loaded. Spring loaded means that you will eventually have your cover open on you when you hit a large bump. They have to be adjusted regularly. And to be honest they don't seal at the tailgate as well. I now have a top of the line backflip and it's honestly just less hassle than the retractable ones. You can install it yourself easily in less than 30 min. It's cheaper. Every bit as secure and strong.

Looks great! I might go that route too. I've had Truxedo on my current Tundra, since 2011 and I'm impressed with them. This spring, the sun and age had finally got to the cover, I called them, they wanted original receipt, and date code off cover, it's warranteed for life! They sent me a new cover, for free. It took me about 20 minutes to put the original hardware on it, and voila, looks brand new again!

I've found their customer service off the charts. The rear seal on my 'soft' TruxEdo finally cracked after 5 years. Went to the web-site to find a part number to order a new one .. couldn't find it .. called them and asked. They just asked my address and sent me out a new one immediately. Wonderful service!!

How are you liking this? Do you have a link to the seller (I couldn't find one at the price you quoted). Can you still use the track system? Thanks!

It's listed for 334.99. I offered 300 they countered with 318. You can still use the track to some extent w/o removing anything. Loving it still, pretty hard rain the other day and very little water made it in the bed. One of the foam blocks popped off but easily fixed w some epoxy. I think i may get some better track clamps

For those with 2022 branded tonneau covers vs 2021 and prior, are they mounted the same? Are they all using brackets similar to this? I bought a hard trifold 6.5 advertised as 2007-2022 tundra. Assuming I may need to fiddle with the mounting. Got the cover already actually but don’t have the truck yet so can’t check it out.

Mounting clamps are different for 22 but you can use these for previous gen covers.

I also have the TruXedo Sentry CT on my 22 Tundra, had it on the 20 Taco, love it and the rail cleats still work for both.
