The newer model 3's (and S/X/Y) now have lithium ion 12V batteries instead of the heavier and shorter-life lead acid 12V batteries. Forgot about that improvement.

Just installed the Model 3 mud flap kit from Tesla....what a waste of money. I was under the impression that the kit included flaps for all four wheels. Turns out the kit is only for the front wheels, but you have an option of a small flap, or the larger "splash guard". Nothing included for the rear.

If I were to do it all over again, get the Roblox kit mentioned earlier in the thread. Those seem to be the best bang for your buck. And they look cool.

Don't get the Abstract Ocean flaps or the Tesla flaps. You'll either get a scratched car or half of what you need.

    Appreciate the frustrating research. :hattip:
I'll look into the Roblox before my 3 gets delivered.
You getting the front bumper done too?

I am getting a "bro" cost...so around $400 for all as he does it on side in addition to his real employer (who does this and tint as well). YMMV. You will want to call around at least three different shops

$400?! That is the "bro cost" alright. I got quoted $1500ish to do the same areas of PPF on my 4Runner a few years back. Nice steal!

He was referred to me by a friend who did his Tesla's windows. His real employer is contracted by several Chevy, Cadillac, Toyota, etc dealerships for tint and PPF.

Call me cheap. But my 06 Tundra 4x4 DC cost me $7000 and the 19’ Leaf SV cost me $21000. The home charger cost about $500 to install. I’ve spent maybe $1000 fixing the Tundra up. So all in, less than $30,000.

I put maybe 1200-2000 miles a month on the leaf (depending on trips and weather) and only use the tundra for dirty and heavy jobs. The Nissan Leaf is no Tesla, but, it’s nice. There aren’t many rapid chargers in my area, Tesla, CHAdeMO, CCS. Maybe one of each and that’s 30-50 miles away. So I mostly charge at home.

The latest update has the Tesla herd talking to each other

tells other teslas that the road is rough and will adjust suspension

    I’m impressed

This video does a good job explaining how to increase your time in a M3P; I’m sure this would would for a LR 3 too as you can still warm up the battery as S and Plaids have drag strip mode that heats it. I’m hopeful the 3’s will be pushed with that with an OTA eventually

Remember when Tesla actually sent a bunch of M3P owners checks because they lowered the price at one point

So, for the Tesla owners here - if you could only have a Tesla or a Tundra…which would you pick?

Tundra - no hesitation! I love electric, but it has its limitations. I do too many road trips in remote locations for electric as the sole vehicle. But my M3P and the Tundra are a great pair. Amazing daily and great weekend rig combo!
