Hmmm ok. I did try and heard the horn do that 3 beep, but seemed like rear door (no sensor) was still unlocked when I did a check, so not sure if it worked.

Sorry I never saw this message. I did not order this truck, I was actually calling around for a 4Runner, and Randy said they had this Tundra available (thinking SR5 and 4x2 had a lot to do with that). I have nothing but good things to say about Cedar Park Toyota and will likely try to get a Sequoia from them whenever they start rolling.

agreed haha… but with the way this safety crap works, options might be limited… I’ll try mine tonight too and see what I can do…

if the vehicle is running and you touch the outside door lock sensor or use the keyfob to lock, the vehicle will not lock. this is standard procedure since PTS came out on toyota's.

this is the biggest annoyance of toyota PTS system. wish still had keys :)

love our 2018 with keys as i can remote start the truck while running, pull the key and lock the truck and it will stay running until it runs out of gas.

I thought if you get out of the truck and take out the key from the fob and insert into door handle and lock it then it locks everything. When you come back you can just put hand over the handle and it will unlock?

yes you could do that, but the emergency key is pretty flimsy compared to a normal key. repeatedly using it for this will snap it. and i am pretty sure you have to buy the whole fob to get a replacement emergency key. and those are not cheap, around $400 at the low end i think.

My '22 SR5 DoubleCab with Premium Offroad package. I've had it for a month and a half and it is still stock. Getting windows tinted tomorrow and wanting to get some 35's or so under it eventually. I run snow tires in the winter so might just roll with the stock setup this summer and then look for sets of winter and summer wheels / tires this fall. I'm also interested in a slight lift and/or leveling. I also want to get rid of the faux chrome at the grille surround and rear bumper (ideally both go to paint color). Lastly I am a canopy guy and want one for this truck but my go-to brand (ARE) doesn't seem to be making them yet and I am unsure how to resolve the tech on the back of the cab that a canopy would essentially block. So now I am considering a tonneau cover and/or a rack but still think I'll end up needing a canopy with all the winter driving through mountains that we do.

What bed cover is that? I was trying to find one just like that. I have a rugged liner on my taco and love it. Takes 3 min to put on and 3 min to take off. Solid tri fold.

Nice ride, young man, nice ride...

I must be the only dude out there that likes the factory look, and with the exception of going with 275's when the stock tires are done, plan to do nothing else....
    guess i'm a dinosaur.

So cool they sent you a pic! Maybe its just me but the tailgate of the new gen is the best part of the exterior redesign. The black tailgate cap on that color is awesome.

So… I didnt wait long. At all. But it is a long story.

I actually got really lucky… Like, Really REALLY lucky. I had an alert set on cars.com for nationwide on one. Nothing happened, but then this one popped up last month as an allocation, and quite literally in my own back yard of all places! (less than 45min away).

When I got the alert, I contacted dealership IMMEDIATELY and was first in line, quite miraculously. The dealership didnt even know they were being allocated one, much less when, and certainly they did not expect Solar Octane.

My salesman was awesome. He waited for me to drive over there. I of course went to them lickety split, made deposit, and then waited until they called me that it was completely built and in transit a few days later. I bought the truck and then just had to wait. Luckily, my day was today. It arrived this morning and while we were there finalizing everything and picking it up, people were stopping in to look at it and try to purchase it. Apparently there were numerous call ins and emails in the leading up until today from the moment it listed online also. So many that everyone who works there said they lost count.

So, yeah… Very lucky on a number of fronts. Also, I got in on it just in time and they hooked me up because of my veteran status so my markup was minimal. As of July 1st though, IF they do happen to get another, they said it will be at least $15,000 markup! They have a Capstone right now on the lot with an even higher markup. Manager looked up the current national allocations to date on Solar Octane TRD Pros and said there are at present only 16 built and 15 are sold. He didnt say where the next one is going but did say July 7th to ship. Just an FYI for those looking.

Honestly though, everyone, it has been a rough year for me personally. Obviously I wont go into details, but you could write a #1 country song based on the series of events I’ve had thwarted my direction this year. Ive stayed strong though, pushed through on faith multiple times, and so having all this happen the way it did for me on this truck really feels like a blessing. That doesn’t mean I don’t feel for those of you still waiting patiently… I just feel incredibly lucky and humbled to have something go my way. And the smile on my boys’ faces all the way across the lake, and then to Five Guys for lunch before heading home: Awesome day, gentlemen. Awesome day.

First of all, thank you for your service. Sorry you've had a rough year. You can ride with pride in that beauty. If I may say so, your not giving yourself enough credit. Luck is when preparation meets opportunity and you nailed it. Enjoy it and happy 4th to you, your family and all others on the thread.
