Muth has changed their mounting process from years ago. Have any of you installed these with this new process of mounting the backplate?

Edit....wiring location attached for the 2018-2020. Also attached is the floating instructions. These mirrors will not fit into the OEM backing plate....they are oversized.

I just received mine today and am running into the same issue, did you end up mounting yours? Looks like you might have to mount the bracket first and then use some adhesive to stick the mirror glass to that?

Gotcha. I put these on my 2011 tundra years ago and they had the mount plate attached. Was a fast and simple install, this one might take some more patience

    Welcome to the forum.
That sucks, it was all one assembly back in 2015.
I was thinking of swapping my reds for amber.

I'm sure @Tundra234 will help you soon.
    He's pretty frequently online..

I did mount mine but I did it a little different that what they instructed. I emailed them about it. Let me see if I can find the email.

So on these newer ones, the glass is bigger than the OEM mirror glass, so it will not fit into the backing plate. The piece that I have shown in the pic is going to attach directly to the back of the Muth mirror. Are the 2 mirrors the only thing that are in the box, or are the 2 smaller plates included? (I don't remember off the top of my head). Once I figured out where the plates needed to go, I used the 3M VHT tape to attach it, and then added some JB Weld in various places for addition mounting adhesion.

Edit....I just emailed her and asked if they could post instructions for these newer ones.

Yeah the kit came with the plastic mounting brackets, the mirrors and a round piece of adhesive. Did you attach the plastic bracket first, then eyeball the glass on? Just trying to figure out how to get it even in the housing

The new glass is about 3mm bigger than the old glass. I layed the old and new glass down and eyeballed the angle of the plastic bracket and figured out where it needed to go. You could probably measure from all 4 sides as well.

She emailed me this for the wiring but I emailed back and told her we were looking for the glass placement in reference to the bracket.

Sounds good, I’ll try and work on it this week. Try and get some pictures and maybe do a write up for this newer version. Not much out on the forums about it yet. I appreciate all the help so far!
