Have you had anyone mention any issues with increased temps from installing these? I want to get my parents a set before they travel around the country for a few months but their tundra has already experienced higher trans temp issues due to lack of a tranny cooler.

 

You will be fine. I'm in Fl and I've had mine for a year or so with no issues.

 

I can answer this for Tyler. I’ve literally driven cross country and pulled a trailer for thousands of miles multiple times with his cat plates on. Absolutely no issues with temps.

 

Your problem will be the lack of tranny cooler, not because of the plates added on.

 

One of four parcels showed up yesterday. Getting closer !!!

 

I have both plates in 1/8” steel, and I’ve been driving in Central Texas’s 100+ heat for a while now, and no issues at all.

 

That is being ordered also. It's all going to be a retirement gift for my father. I'm just going to have to find time to get down off the mountain to install it. 15hr days suck, but the extra $ is useful.

 

Same here, thinner but I'm in hell Houston so worse.

 

@Classy63 Does your nut place work with the screwed security bolt or only for the pentagon bolts you provide with the plates?

 

If it is 3/8x4 and I can’t remember the pitch of the nut off the top of my head (but it is the standard pitch), then yes

 

This week and next week, I am trying my best to release the 2wd V3 vertical plate, Tacoma plate, and the 22+ hybrid plate.

 

My plates showed up today. The front plate had some minor surface rust, but that was expected, and cleaned off easy enough with a wire cup on a grinder. The rear plate was surprisingly rust free except 2 minor spots. I primed them and got 2 coats of herculiner on one side today. I'll finish rolling them tomorrow and get them mounted.

@Classy63, order the skid plate from you last nov and just got around to putting some primer and paint on it this weekend. When i opened up the front piece, one of the corner is bent. any tip on flatten it again?
