Good Morning Everyone! A little backstory of the issues I've had

I had my fuel pump replaced on my 2018 with 65k miles, the first one Toyota sent had a broken sending unit (per the tech), they sent him a second one which went out on me at a gas station 2 days after I got the truck back. The shop ordered a 3rd fuel pump which threw a code that came up as the sending unit again. so 4th times a charm this fuel pump works, but as I'm pulling out of my works parking lot I watched the gauge drop from half tank to E and the refuel notification came on my screen. I went to fill the truck up down the road thinking the truck was just relearning the new part, and the gauge didn't move at all and is still reading that it has an empty tank.

Did I get another bad fuel pump? These are all OEM parts from the Toyota dealership and have only been dealing with this issue after the fuel pump replacement.

Bad sending unit. Take it back too the dealership. The sending unit and the pump should be separate but together if that makes sense. They should be able to remove the sending unit and replace it. But too do so, out comes the pump again.

Man it's crazy how the same part has been bad in what's now 5 of the same part. Just bad luck or is this a common thing with this year model?

Are you sure they’re using OEM parts? These days it’s hard to say, someone in the game might know about any trends with these parts. Unfortunately I don’t.
I replaced the pump on my 14 SR. So I’m aware of the pump and sending unit assembly.

The shop that's doing the work has worked on everyone at my companies vehicles for years so I trust them. And I'm 99% sure he is, because he's had to get all the previous ones warrantied through Toyota. But of course now they're giving him a hard time about the parts saying there's no way I got another bad one.

Update: Got in my truck this morning, fuel gauge is reading at 3/4 tank and the miles till empty is correct. WTH is going on with this thing, do they have a computer that needs to relearn the function? I don't want to have the shop change it out again and keep calling on the same issue..... Anyone have some insight?
