Orphaned Radio Harness Inputs

Hey guys, got an aftermarket receiver with a Maestro along with Crutchfield harness. Hooked everything up that I could figure out for a test, but have these left over. The two round ones look like SiriusXM antennas, but the blue and black&white ones? Guessing they are obsolete, and about to power up, but thought I’d check.

 

What adapters did you pick up with the head unit? I’m guessing one of them is GPS. I have to pull my deck out later today to figure out why my front camera isn’t working, so I can see what I have plugged in where and might help make some sense.

 

Thanks, @TRDFerguson - maybe, I’m using aftermarket GPS, so that’d ease my mind a bit. Receiver works. Maestro is pissed off as hell, so I’ve screwed something up. A day of troubleshooting versus calling Crutchfield tomorrow. Hmm, may go out and fell some trees and think about it. I don’t think the ladies work this way, but us guys have to go out and tear things up to figure out puzzles like this.

 

I just Upgraded mine as well, Crutchfield, maestro and harness, had the black and white ones left over myself and also believe one at least is xm, did not have the blue one at all and I believe I had the long plugged up. Mine is a 2016

 

That’s weird, I’d think with a 1794, you’d have all kinds of extras compared to an SR5. I’m going to check the back of the factory radio and see if it’s stamped on there. I took a lot of pictures out of paranoid experience, so there’s that…

 

Pretty sure blue is your GPS antenna.
I’d have to look at the EWDs to speak to the others

 

Looks like the black connector is for the DCM/Telematics module (J204) into the main head uni but I’d need a better shot of the front of it to confirm.

Black round (J154) is the Sat radio receiver into the main tuner assembly

Blue square (J153) is SDARS (sat radio) antenna into the Sat Radio receiver

White round isn’t showing in my searches through the EWD. Is the same shape/connector as J154, but nothing shows that connector type except that one connector.
Me money is that it is one of the antennas that isn’t specifically identified with a connector - possibly FM or AM

 

Talked to the Crutch. Think I’m good now. Blue is steering wheel controls, handled through iDatalink instead on the Maestro. Black round is SiriusXM, White round is GPS antennae and white&black contains more accessory inputs handled by iDatalink. I’ll forward everything once it’s been discombobulated for y’all.

I have the part number for the GPS connector harness (so I don’t have to run a new wire). I’ve also got some info to try and maintain the factory mic so I don’t have to run that aftermarket one either.

I believe the iDatalink STO2 kit gets you the correct sat and GPS antenna adapters. I assume that’s what they pointed you towards?

Glad they were able to get you sorted out, at least a bit more than earlier

ACC-SAT-TO2. Really like those guys. I ordered one off Amazon for $20, so some dis- and reassembly will be in order. Mic seems to be a whole thing, so I’m just doing the bezel install with the Kenwood-supplied mic.

In other news, after all my testing, I killed my battery with the truck 1/2 way in the garage and the wife away with the other car at a USTA tourney. Murphy still lives. Thank you God, for giving us beer.

 

Thanks so much for researching this, @RainMan_PNW ! The white is supposedly the GPS antenna. I had a separate “classic” AM/FM antenna connection in the Crutchfield harness that married to the factory harness connector, so the AM/FM was all wired up already.
I am curious if there’s an aftermarket USB port I can install next to the other USB ports in the I/O panel. My aftermarket radio has a second USB I/O connection and it’d be convenient to have. Might also be cool to have the Maestro USB-3/USB-C connection exposed for flash updates, etc.

 

This one will work in place of one of the cig lighter ports (don’t know what spaces you have available on 2020s or your specific trim)
