I posted almost your exact post about a month ago in reference to the Bakflip F1. If I'm not mistaken, Bakflip makes the OEM cover. My F1 leaks like no cover I've ever seen (exactly how you described). There is definitely something defective, as mine also leaks all the way across at every hinge seam. I contacted Bakflip and sent photos. I heard back the next day that they were shipping an entire new unit, rails and all. I just spoke with them today and everything is back ordered; my replacement was supposed to ship 2 weeks ago.

Well. That doesn’t give me great confidence. Lol. Will wait to see what the dealership says.

Bummer. Only suggestion is to uninstall and install again yourself to see if it fixes the issue. Its a very simple process.

Make sure the new tonneau rail bolts are snugged up and that the new rail is not loose anywhere. Also look at the rubber seal on the new rails that sits on top of the truck bed and ensure theyre flat. Lastly, when its closed up. Ensure the tonneau is completely flat as sometimes the rubber gets caught at the bends, and doesnt sit completely flush. Sometimes have to push them in for it to close properly.

I made a install video of installing my oem cover. Sorry to hear. Hope its an easy fix.

I have the same issue, there is clearly something defective. The cover leaks across all the seams. I wouldn't waste my time re-installing; installation has nothing to do with this issue. It's not like you are trying to trouble shoot one dripping spot. My bed gets so wet in the rain, it's comical.

Did you get it at the dealership? Have you reached out to them about the issue?

I have the retrax sitting in my garage, just waiting on the truck. I'll give a short review once I have everything installed.

I just got this same one delivered yesterday I'm super excited to install. If you have any pointers based off your experience I'd surely appreciate it.

Mine is the Bakflip F1. It is essentially the same design as the OEM cover, just made out of different material. I purchased from Realtrucks.com. I contacted Bakflip and they immediately put me in for a full replacement. In a normal situation, the defective product would need to be returned prior, but they waived that policy due to current material shortages etc. I am keeping the leaking one until the new one arrives. The customer service has been exceptional, so far.

Installed the Gator SFX today, took a total of an hour and a half but most of that was chasing my almost 2 year old around the garage LOL. In reality it should have taken like 30 minutes tops. I can't tell you all how happy I am with the product, the fitment, and the overall quality with this cover. For anyone of you on the fence, take the chance with the Gator, it's cost really allows you to chance it...$259 is a hell of a deal.
Only thing I didn't do was install the weatherstripping that came with because I don't know where it goes and it's not in the instructions so if anyone has insight I'd love to hear it.

if it’s anything like the one on my last tundra, the weather strip went along the top of the back of bed, under the cover… but it wasn’t a Gator so theirs may be different…

That's what I was thinking, just didn't wanna stick it on there and be wrong so I'll wait for some confirmation from someone with the Gator or from them when I call for support. Thanks for helping me out, now I owe you a beer or two haha!

Anyone actually notice better MPG with a bed cover?

Seems like some people say it doesn’t make a difference and some say it’s a noticeable difference.

Went with the Bakflip F1. Adding the brackets for the side rail was quite the challenge since I figured the directions would be somewhat useful…… they were not. Customer service did not want to help either

Once I figured out that I had to remove the deck rail system, mount the tonneau cover rails with the bracket to the previous deck rail system holes, and then mount the deck rail to the bottom of the bracket for a new location, it wasn’t so bad.

After the small delay everything seemed to go smoothly and the end product looks very sharp and looks like a tight fit.

It goes on the top edge of the back wall of the bed that is against the cab. But I haven't installed it and it has rained pretty good and no water has gotten inside the bed yet.

How is this cover with leaking? I installed the F1 as well and mine is terrible. Bakflip is sending me an entire new unit; I'm hoping I just got a bad one and this isn't normal.

....and yes, the instructions I received with my cover showed brackets used for another vehicle, nothing like the Tundra, LOL.

Yup. Was averaging about 730km on a tank and now closer to 830km.

Here is the Extang Xceed tonneau cover. Went this route because I like how low profile it is, and you can hardly tell it is folding since the hinges are very well hidden. Took it through the car wash and it did let a bit of water in, but not too terribly bad. If I was so concerned about things staying completely dry in my truck bed, I would have bought an SUV. It was super easy to install. Took me like an hour or so, once I figured out that my instructions were incorrect. They included instructions for the clamping style mounts, but the mounts for this kit bolt right up to the existing holes for the bed track system. I can't speak to an increase in fuel economy. I haven't noticed any gains there in the couple weeks I have had it on.

Man, that's good to hear! Hopefully my replacement gets here in a couple weeks. If you ever go through car washes, let me know how it fares! Before I'm lectured by anyone. I know this is high pressure, yadda yadda. I'm just curious.

If anyone (like me!) is looking for the Yakima Tonneau kit to mount their Overhaul HD rack system to something like the Retrax XR series of covers, I found one in stock! Seems like the only place in the entire country that has them at the moment: https://www.tonneaufactoryoutlet.co...ing-kit-for-mounting-overhaul-or-outpost.html

Yakima seem to be struggling with supply-line issues like everyone else, many of their accessories and kits are back-ordered everywhere.
