2022 Ticking...

Just brought home new 2022 Tundra SR5 4x4... 200km on it. Started it up after sitting for a few days and the motor had a noticeable TICK!! After a couple of minutes, and putting foot on the gas a bit, it did disappear. Not cold outside - maybe 10-12C, 55-65F. Pretty concerned.... particularly as it is the new motor....
Any one else experiencing this?

 

You sure it’s not the fuel injectors.

 

After a few days of sitting it could be the lifters not being full of oil which is completely normal no matter what engine you have . If it does it every time you start it ( as in every day ) then I might be a little concerned .

Haha. I thought the same thing. Had 6 Toyotas through the years. This is the only one that hasn’t ticked. My air drumming is way off time now.

So do the muffler bearings. I wonder if Toyota included these in their fake engine sounds. I know my OCD would kick in full bore if the injector/muffler bearing ticking was from a V6 and the piped in exhaust sound was from a V8.
