So I have my front end mostly back together, however I think I may have a problem. On the driver side, when I rotate my CV axle, there is a very subtle continuous "click, click, click" rapidly when turning it by hand at slow speed. It's not the CV axle itself as its new and has no play. I assume its from the needle bearing in the differential, however the bearing looked normal. Should the needle bearing make any noise when the axle is rotated by hand?

    It's good
The rubber / rubber sound part is weird. Tire isn't rubbing anything is it?
Does it make the noise in neutral with engine running and no forward movement or is it limited to when wheels are turning?
Any change when 4WD is engaged?

I already posted in the Grill options thread, but I’ll post this here too to show you guys.

installed the TRD pro grill for my 2002.
There is a few retailers that sell for $375 and $260. Got mine from alibaba for under $200 shipped.
Easy to install and I like the way it looks. only issue I have is it’s made of completely ABS and there is no supports behind the grill so it feels a tad flimsy when opening and closing the grill. minor gaps on the side and lower that the OEM grill didn’t have. All in all I’m happy with it.

It’s not a continuous sound. Just once a revolution. I’ll check 4WD but I have the new bushing instead of the needle bearing if that’s what you’re thinking. Only makes sound when moving

Is it seated all the way? Mine didn't click any. Is it at a point you can take em out and check the bearing?

I have been contemplating taking the sway bar off myself, the only thing holding me back is that its my DD and I am always driving the family and little ones around. Want the truck to be as safe as possible.

You can only have the safety first patch if you add a Hellwig to the rear.

haha true ture, i know you are a huge advocate of sway bar removal. I guess i will have to try it out and make my own decision ;)

I totally joshin you, if I drove faster than 35 every day, and carried my kids more, I’d probably still have it on and connected

I watched a pretty interesting video I believe from Dirt Lifestyle on youtube. He talked about how sway bars may limit travel but they can also help by keeping the tire that is on the ground more firmly planted when offroading. So there can be benefits to keeping your sway bar on even when offroading.

Ive been going back and forth a long time whether to remove or not but ultimately it seemed that the benefits of removing it were not really enough to justify the added risk on the highway. Obviously the best would be some form of quick disconnects for offroading to get the extra travel. But even then, seeing his video explaining the physics of a sway bar made me want to keep mine on.

But I have never tried it without a sway bar so i have no experience to share.

    Video linky?
I presumed SB limited full droop, therefore reducing traction in certain situations

Yes, in certain situations having the SB did reduce traction, but in other situations offroad it seemed that having the SB could also help with traction.

haha maybe he did contradict himself, but its been awhile since ive watched his explanation!

But like i said, i have no experience removing it and really enjoy this topic and have gone back and forth with the idea of removing it for awhile now, so I like hearing others experiences with removing it!

All this chatter of swayzees, uh, swaybars made me realize I didn't order any extended links. Not sure it'll actually be necessary for 2" or slightly less of front lift?

Bad - mall crawlers want the least amount of spring rate possible so they can cry less about speed bumps.
