    Hi all!

Love my new Gen 3 tundra, but hated the street 265/70R18 Yokohama Geolanders that came on it.

I’ve been going crazy researching the Wescott Design lift or using some Gen 2 spacer lift. Also seeing guys throw 35’s on their trucks with no lift, but using aftermarket rims.

I decided to visit the local Discount Tire. I wanted to test fit a 295/70R18 Nitto Terra Grappler (34.29”) on my stock rim. He said the computer said it wouldn’t fit, but they’d try.

Well, I’m now the new owner of four awesome looking tires that lifted the truck noticeably and gave it such a better profile.

If you’re like me and trying to change that street look, but don’t wanna wait for back ordered Wescott or toy with a Gen 2 spacer lift on your Gen 3. Check theses tires out, no rubbing at all!

I’m still gonna try and level out the front eventually.

I've been running a set of Nitto TG on my Tacoma for a few years and really happy with them.

Thought the width for Tundras was 8 inch wheels, 7-7.5 is used on Tacoma. 295s or 285s fit perfect on 8 inch wide wheels

That is what I thought to but apparently they gave the standard 18's 7.5" widths for the black/silver offroad wheel and the silver sr5 wheel.

especially when the press release showed 18x8 and 20x8. I am a toyota employee so don't like seeing wrong info.

The black TRD 20" wheels offroad if you will ( TSS and XP pkg wheel ) is a 20x8.5"
The black TRD 20" Sport wheel is 20x8.5"
The Black PRO 18" BBS Wheel is 18x8.5"
The limited wheel is 20x8 not 8.5"
The oem silver SR5 wheel is 18x 7.5"
The black and silver offroad wheel is 18x7.5"
The Platinum grey wheel is 20x8"

    Good list thanks

It's not surprising they go to smaller wheels with the smaller 265 tire.

Looks great! I am hoping to do the same thing with my truck. I am partial to BF Goody AT's and hoping I can squeeze a set of 295's on it as well. I cringe at the idea of needing to get aftermarket wheels in addition to tires at this point even though I don't love the wheels that came with the truck (SR5 Off Road). I need to win the lottery.

Off topic but what tinting do you have going on? Did you tint over the rear door and back factory tinted glass and add a tint to the front door windows? Did you also tint your windshield? What tint percentages did you use for all of it? I have an appointment tomorrow to get mine done and I'm trying to decide how to do it. I am told the tinted factory glass on the rear doors and back is 20%. My options seem to be to add a layer of 20% to the rear doors and back and them match it with 5% on the front doors but that is pretty much murdered out limo tint and darker than I really want for a few different practical reasons (even though it would look great). I am considering going 35% over the rear doors (effectively 7%) and back and using 20% on the front doors (unfortunately my tinter doesn't have anything between 20% and 5%) which would make the back really dark and the front a little lighter. This looks like what you might have done? I like the way yours looks and would like to emulate it with my truck. Any advice is appreciated.

Also, what did you do to get your grille surround white? Is that an aftermarket product? Did you dip it? Or did it come that way on the model you got? I'd like to get mine to be 'blueprint' instead of fake chrome and change the badge in the grille to be black like you have as well.

    Thanks!

    Island Style,

Sorry for the delay man, I just saw your post! My truck came with the stock privacy windows and a dealer match tint on the front windows. I had someone remove the front tint and limo everything including a visor strip on the windshield.

I didn’t do anything on the body. It came from the factory to the dealer that way with the predator side steps and blacked out trim and decals
