I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
Probably not. At least not through a credit union.

I put roughly 35% down, rate was 2.54% still… down payment made no difference for me….

Down payment only affects your ability to get approved. It would only be needed if you're DTI is bad.

Is that at a dealer? Try Servus and ATB.

As an old guy, nothing worse than payments other than necessities. Bought my house in '84 and interest rate was 18% on a 30yr. Save your money and quit keeping up with the "Jones". What you own needs to be paid for to appreciate. My 2 cents.

Yeah, that's from the dealer. ATB wss 7.2% with a max of 5 year term when I talked to them, since they consider it a personal loan. Dealers have the best rates in Canada.

7.2? Yikes! You can get a line of credit much cheaper than that!

This is the dealership closest to me, as of today, on a SR5 4X2 (just the first truck on the page, no difference.)
They don't have lease special, so I guess whatever market rate is, most likely above 5% if not 6-7%

Not sure if this is available in Canada, but Capital One will quote a rate and give a pre approval without putting a hit on your credit score. Assuming you give them accurate information it’s a good place to start for anyone looking to finance.
There may be better rates available than Capital One, but at the minimum it gives you something to judge the dealer’s offer against. The pre approval at least gives you something they have to beat.

Not likely considering both the bank and dealership make money off of financing. The less you finance, the less they make. If anything they’d probably try to sneak a higher rate by you (if they know about the down payment ahead of time).

A market adjustment like that…they are trying to keep it on the showroom. If someone pays it…win. If not…win.

Not necessarily. Toyota Financial does offer discounts for "super equity" meaning you can get anywhere from a half to whole percentage point less interest with a certain amount down. On the flip side, they can add interest if you are upside down or not putting any money down. Most credit unions don't really mess with that stuff though.

Generally down payment doesn’t change anything.

Very generally speaking, the shorter you finance, the better the rate.
36 and 48 month loans will usually have a better rate than 5-7 year loans.

Old guy here again. The only thing that is a financeable that makes any sense is your house. After that compounding payments for things you think you need will only complicate your need to produce the capitol to pay for them. God forbid something happens along the way. In todays crazy times it's all a crap shoot. "Take care of #1 and try not to step in #2"

I only have 1. The lightning probably isn’t going to work for me and I passed on the pro, too much markup. I did find another solar pro I’m trying to get the markup reduced.
