Yes that's brand new . Had it towed to the dealership yesterday I'm thinking it's got to be a bad ground or wire somewhere because it only leaves me stranded on wet days only recently started having they issues

What does it do when it dies? Need more description of the symptoms of when it dies and how it acts when trying to start again.

    Any trouble codes?

Does it have a sun/moon roof? One guy recently had a truck doing really weird stuff. His shop said the drain for the moon roof was plugged and water was backing up into the electrical system.

Then this time on the side of the road I popped on the fuel line and fuel erupted from the rail like a volcano unlike before then it just cranks and cranks

So do you think it has stable and constant fuel pressure? Sounds like that could have been a problem before.

I don’t know that I wouldn’t install a fuel pressure gauge just to watch and it make sure it’s not fluctuating or dropping out.

If fuel pressure and delivery is good and stable I would start looking at ignition circuit

Sounds like fuel delivery is fine. This has electrical written all over it.

Yes the question is where at though. If fuel is good then it has to be an ignition issue.

If you have fuel and air the only thing missing is spark or it would be running

Agreed. Would it not be a good place to start checking ground at the starter and also do a battery check?

Battery check is good I do notice when my door is open sometimes it will beep if I wiggle the key just right. If the ignition is bad will that cause no spark?

He seems to describe it cranking fine which makes me think the starter and battery are both good. If one was bad it would be sluggish turning over or intermittent.

If it cranks strong everytime the key is turned safe to say starter and battery are good.

Might need to get the codes from Techstream. It has a much better ability to look at each individual ecu. It can also log data as you are driving. One option could be a laptop running Techstream logging as you drive. Hopefully it starts to act up and one or more parameters in the log show what’s happening.

Problem with dealerships is if they can't get it to act up, they send it back home to you.

Really need to narrow down if fuel is cutting out or if spark/ignition is cutting out and go from there.

These things can sometimes be hard to chase down. Knowing that fuel pump and fuel pump ecu are good, you could have an ignition problem.

I think one of the most common issues here is the key security ecu. If it quits working properly or doesn't see your key it will not allow the truck to spark / start. It will just turn over but never run. Does the red security light on the dash flash when you are unsuccessfully trying to start it?

He mentioned earlier that it doesn't want to start sometimes. Usually after a rain.

Maybe it could be keys are old they been wet and it the hot sun I've been near salt water alot as well always brought my keys with me on the boat . Think maybe a new chip key from the dealer might be a worth checking with ignition?

If it really is a bad connector on your fuel pump ecu your key is most likely fine. I would get the connecotr fixed and go drive it.

If issues come back up then start looking at key, ingition ect.
