I think he’s a friend of a friend, just not really a regular forum guy. And until/unless we kick start the SoCal Shenanigans thread, a lot of more-real-life-than-forum types check pretty intermittently. I vote we give him a bit:

What are you going on about? I read the forum weekly, but just don’t have much to post lately.

 

If this is your way of encouraging participation in the forum you might try a different tactic. I enjoy reading the forum and helping out other tundra owners. I was able to purchase a mirror from a guy out in Michigan when I accidentally knocked mine off backing into a tight spot in a parking garage. Even messaged the guy how great it was that the forum can connect us tundra owners and help each other out. I thought I would put these end caps up for sale since I swapped them out for a color matched pair. Thought this was a good way to offer them to a fellow person from the forum that may need them or was in a similar situation needing a part for the tundra but didn’t want to pay through the roof price at a dealer. Even replied to a few people inquiring about them but never heard back. Like I said the forum is a great way for us to ask questions and support each other when needed.

You know the forum is for more than just buying and selling stuff, right?

 

Why is this even an issue to begin with? He is trying to sell and help others just like others that posted in the marketplace. Just because someone doesn't post regularly doesn't make them "shady". I personally don't have a lot of time to sit on here and comment all day/night like a lot of the folks do. I like to read things that interest me and maybe will post something here and there. Have been pursuing other hobbies and the Tundra has kinda gotten put on the back burner. Give this guy a break and let him sell like everyone else...he isn't breaking any rules.

 

It also minimizes risk.

Similar to eBay's seller ratings/feedback system, the chance of getting bamboozled by a serious contributor with a substantial post count is minimal vs someone who is relatively unknown and looking to make a quick buck offloading parts.

 

I understand the rules and reasons behind post counts and such. I have seen numerous people come on and sell things and to never be seen again in the forum. I have also seen posters be allowed to sell stuff that is their friends stuff and not even theirs, which is not allowed in other forums especially if you tell people right off the bat. I just think this guy wasn't treated the way people expect to be treated here. IMHO post #12 was a bit sarcastic and unnecessary.
