Wore out needle bearings, possibly wore out axle?

I can’t catch a break, this spring I blew my steering rack, broke a knuckle, put a hole in a cv boot, realized my brakes were seized and wore out, and accidentally ordered 14-21 ditch light brackets. All right before I got sent out of the country for 2 months for work. And now that I’ve fixed everything and putting it back together found my driver side needle bearings appear to be shot. Couple mm of play with axle as well as free hub like sound when spinning by hand.

    Questions:
I’m thinking get the ecg bushing to eliminate the needle bearings - any experience compared to replacing with new bearing?

And second, is my axle okay?

Axle is fine. ECGS solution is better and cheaper.

Is that a crack on the lower portion of the axle?, it certainly looks like it from here. If so, I would definitely suggest replacing it. As far as the bushing goes, I've heard nothing but good things about them. Good luck.

If that surface is the race for the needle bearing, I would not use it again. However, if you are going with a bushing I would probably give it a try.

That’s the gist I’ve been seeing

    No crack, just a reflection

I think that’s the route I’ll go with the bushing

appreciate all the feedback, it’s nice to get some more opinions

The OEM axle is about the best you can get. Any aftermarket CV axle other than RCV is garbage.

I don’t even want to pony up for the oem axle so RCV is probably not going to happen. I’m just going to try and run the oem one I have as is with the bushing in the diff and see how that goes. If it has issues I guess I’ll cry and buy a new oem

Just anecdotal, but when I did the ECGS bearing I never could get my oem CV axle back in. Not sure how I f'd it up but I did.

    (Earmuffs some of y'all........)

I installed an O'Reilly's brand and it's been ok for a while now. I only off-road during hunting season :notsure:
