GPS tracking is offered by other 3rd party companies. I have mine through AT&T.

My Compustar remote start/alarm and drone mobile app provide tracking.
Although if they disconnect the battery it turns it off.

Stealing a man’s truck is just as bad as stealing his horse…and should be punished accordingly. It was a better society when we all agreed what should happen to horse thieves.

Finally installed mine at a buddies shop after I forgot the socket last week. I have a couple questions. The back shield is pressing up against the drain plate causing the valhallas shield to bow when tightened down. Is this normal? It's about half an inch.

We were going to install my rci front skid plate too but it's impossible without welding the nut plate on top of the crossmember because there's no room to reach up in there to hold the nut plate. Or the holes in the skid plate need to be cut out as shown in white marker. What would you do?

That small black transfer skid plate is supposed to be taken off before putting on the shield.

Dammit.. I don't recall seeing anyone talking about that on here and it doesn't say to on the instructions on valhallas website either. We almost did remove it but I chose not to because I wanted to ask you guys first.

It can be done. I have the RCI engine skid with Valhalla’s plates with bolts and not the nut plate. You have to reach through the driver side area just behind the lower arms. It’s is a tight fit and requires smaller arms and patience, but it is possible.

Buried deeply within this thread are some instructions for installing Tyler's skid plates and cat plates. It is within that thread where it is covered. Not that easy to find. On page 17 of the attached file, you will see the part that explains the removal.

Ordered my cat guards April first this year...so I guess be patient
    Also
These are for a 2021 crewmax Limited and I was gonna order a TRD Pro skid plate so I ordered Pentagon Security Bolts for the TRD Pro...
Now I'm thinking instead of ordering a Pro skid plate just going ahead and getting one from Tyler?
    and 1/4" aluminum..
    Any thoughts advice pitfalls?
    TIA

Also might as well order the Large rock domes now so you have them when you need them.

Ditto on the install. I had a RCI plate before I got the cat plates. I installed it as mentioned, it’s a tight fit. I used a wrench to hold the nut and a impact driver to speed the process up. I did not have a nut plate as my install was a year ago.

Yeah, they have been using a tow truck to tow it away to a different sight more remote and get the cats off here in WA. I started Parking my truck with the rear of the truck near the garage. Lock the emergency brakes on. Might slow them down a little.

I have this exact problem with my RCI engine skid and Desert Eagle cat plate. It is such a huge pain to get those long bolts tightened down through the cross member. If I just install everything else really loose first (meaning the rear bolts of the cat plate and the front & mid bolts of the RCI engine skid), then I have *just* enough room to get an arm up through the hole on the passenger side in between that crossmember and the oil pan. I can barely reach both bolt heads with a ratcheting box end wrench. The thing is, it totally shreds my arm, so I will do as much as I can tolerate with one arm, and then flip around so I can get my other arm in through that same hole to finish the job. I always come out looking like this:
    FC13A226-C380-4C0B-A684-FDC791056241.jpg 45CF78E6-20D2-49A5-81C0-41851FB5611B.jpg
I ordered Valhalla engine and front cat plates in aluminum. Hoping it’s a little easier to install! Even if it isn’t any easier, it’s worth it to protect my truck.

you gotta remove that transfer case. The instruction didn't say to remove it. mine was causing the car to vibrate when at a dead stop.

Did you use the carriage bolts that came with the rci engine skid or the bolts that came with the vahalla skids?

Definitely don’t remove the transfer case! Just the TC cover. If Tyler’s instructions don’t say that, they should.

It's easier to install with a nut plate like the one Valhalla offers. I made the mistake of listening to someone that told me that it was possible to install it without a nut plate. It is possible to install with little arms but I am afraid that my arms weren't small enough. I had the plate almost installed but my arms were too big to get to the nuts. I made a nut plate with some flat 1" steel stock, two 3/8" nuts and my welder. After that it was much easier.

Is it ok to drive it like that until I can get back to my buddies lift? I noticed the vibration right away. It'll be a couple weeks until I can get back on the lift. I'm just going to notch the rci plate holes as it needed enlarged about a sixteenth anyway because it didn't line up with the nut plate.

You might need another nut plate.
Some of them were made wrong, I think he outsourced having some made..
Tyler is sending me another as I type.
