Sounds like most situations. I've learned that awkwardness and WTFs make the world go 'round.

Questions on the pension peeps: Has it been explained with math that working '23 will cost them money? Would they have the option to "retire" but then work as contractors like the other group you mentioned?

Yes and Yes. There are a few people getting ready to jump and then come back as contractors but a few more that cannot handle change. Even when not changing is detrimental to them.

I was working with a retired guy who came back on contract and midway through a training course he raised his hand and said "I have a problem. I've now been awake for 4 consecutive hours and I'm just not used to that any more."

My wife can retire, with a pull pension in 11 years and I cannot work and we will be living just fine. I, however probably will not retire for another 20+ years. I enjoy what I do and (at least as of today) they are very flexible with me. Hell, even when I try to “take vacation time” it never is. I can’t help but check through my emails / texts and jump in where needed…but when I do that, I just take less PTO time from the PTO bank so I can save that.

I was like that in a previous job; always working. Not so much with my current job/employer. Such is life…

Took six months to get, but my (first) recliner arrived a few days ago. I know it is an age related milestone, but it is heaven! Looking forward to some great naps to really ruin my sleep cycle…

Gotta make sure you have your readers on when you fall asleep in chair. The 15 minute "where are my glasses" dip, duck, crawl and peer routine gets the blood flowing afterwards.

What kind of chair did you get?

How does it recline? I don't see a lever or buttons or anything... and there's no bottom piece to lift/rest your feet.

Made me laugh out loud sitting here at the Toyota service center. The old lady across from me just gave me the stink eye.

Have not driven the Tundra for two weeks since I drive a company car for my commute and most weekend trips to shuttle around the family. Forgot how much I love the sound of the V8! Just not looking forward to having to put gas in it at some point as the company car goes in today for a check up and will be out of my hands for most of next week.
