First Gen Grille Options

Ha, truth always comes out! The hunter dude begs others to buy from him so innovations on vehicles will continue. I say it's better to invest in the innovators than a lying shyster who pretends to be something he/business isn't. The fakester gives good smooth talk, but is a joke to hear him say pay double for a part cause he's here in America while his China supplier is past off as an uncaring screw-up! The world wide web complaints about him/TEQ is greater than a very successful foreign grill manufacturing plant. Sounds like TEQ is inadvertently promoting "Buyer Beware" about their shyster level business ethics via BS talk to cover lies.

 

^^Innovation? The manufacture added a new TRD grill design option to choose from with 2000-02 trucks. Looks good to.

 

I found out that I unknowingly/inadvertently paid for expedited shipping (7-10 days vs a month), which is why my shipping cost was $130. Its coming by air instead of sea. I am still $100 under what TEQ would have charged for a "custom painted" grill, and his would have taken 45 days to reach me.

 

My Teq Grille arrived today... their order status page shows it's still in "quality check". I got the Raptor lights so we'll see. I also ordered headlights and sidelights two months ago and that order is in "order placed status" hopefully they're further along than that. Looking forward to installing both. Debating on painting the grille semi gloss black to match all the rest of the plastic trim I had painted on the truck recently. Also considering painting the TOYOTA the same color as my truck (Sunfire Red). Will of course share pics when anything happens

 

Been looking at these TRD pro grills on Teq. Thanks for the link to the alibaba one! just ordered it, the lady I spoke to from the page told me it will be shipped by air and I should have it in 5-7 days with the Toyota emblem and raptor lights in the same delivery.

Shipped by air was $95 and shipped by sea was $70.
Total out the door was $196.00
Can’t wait to get it. I’ll post my thoughts later.

This is so on-point. If you wanted a ferd, buy a ferd.

Slap a couple down the diagonal lines along the hood. Or just go straight-up face-forward with it.

This guy at werk with a ferd, put smoked headlights and a stupid grill on his, hahaha we’re always telling him “sick raptor!!”

I get it, it’s catchy……… I did it to the 4runner but sorta incognito…… I got clear lens, amber LEDs vs amber lens, white LEDs and they are behind a perforated mesh.

I lost my thought for a second, but in town I think there are two f250 “Trex” trucks, and it’s like the big daddy of the raptor, it’s kinda funny, and they didn’t do a terrible job with it.

 

Did you do the rears too?!

 

Rim jobs are nice .but I don't think it needed in this case .

 

Complaints about the lights are everywhere. People waiting for their grill are not happy either. Grill fitment issues abound with no solution given to them. Looks as though the grills don't fit tight like the OEM ones.

Just a couple quick examples.

He's a rough one that points the finger at anyone and everything else in the first one. Instead of manning up and taking responsibility + apologizing like good business people do, his excuses flow faster than a slick pig running around in the mud slop not wanting to get caught.

Just received my Pro grille for my 2002 tundra. Over all I think it looks great. Feels solid and like a high quality part. Installing tomorrow!

bought from alibaba. But it shipped from Compton California. Took less than 6 days from purchase

Just installed my grill, And I like it and I don’t. there is no metal supports on the inside of the grill like the OEM one, so it feels a tad flimsy when opening and closing the hood. And there are gaps on the side and lower part of the grill that weren’t there with the original one.
that being said, it was easy to install and fit how it was supposed to. I’m happy for now. thanks again for this post and the link to the alibaba grill.

yeah I thought I was getting 4 too. As the picture on the site showed. It only came with 3 though

 

I gotta say, I think this looks great on the earlier-year 1GT models. I don't like it as much on the later-year 1GT models.

 

Just realized having 4 lights wouldn’t work since they wouldn’t be evenly spaced on the grill. As there is only 5 open slots on the top row.

 

JUST FYI people, TEQ Customs, AKA Hunter Gill, have admitted to their grills being from Alibaba as well...

So they are ordering and then sending them out as you order from them... No innovation as they claim though they still say that they made the grills which and they were stolen by the Alibaba company, which they provided no proof for.

Also, there is the issue of a US company making copyrighted "Toyota" parts without authorization, even if they are telling the truth...

They have all the same issues, I'll make a post about it when I have a little more time with screenshots and all.

On the FB tundra page, he has been put on notice and admin approval for any post due to complaints.

Alittle drama but as a customer, I kinda feel better on wondering if there was a difference or not between the 2 options, glad to know I'm not that crazy... LOL!

Support the companies that actually do the work, not just use the image of "Made in America"

 

So I was looking back on my order on why I got a grill that only fits 3 TRD lights on the grill and asked the rep from alibaba on why I didn’t get 4 lights with my order. Here is her answer.


if anyone else plans on buying this grill maybe specify that you want one with 4 lights. Or you’ll get a random one

 

She offered me $5 refund. Then told me the supplier only has grills with 3 lights available. she said she will update the listings and remove the misleading pictures showing the grill with a 4 light setup. Just plain ol silly.
Figure I’d share so no one else is mislead in the future.

 

It's set "randomly". you clearly are the mistaken one. Are you planning your revenge yet?

 

working on getting a better refund that $5. I’m not at all mad at the grill I received. Just my curiosity made me ask them about it.

 

Received one for the 03-06 Tundra. Not impressed with it initially. Fitment is poor and the grille is very flimsy. I felt like the hood latch was going to snap off the tiny plastic mount.

Removed from truck until I have time to "increase the structural integrity" of the grille. Not sure what I will do yet, but it will need some work before it has a place on my truck.
Love the heritage grille so I think it will be worth my time.

 

Because all aftermarket custom TRD grills sold in America are actually made in China, and people are complaining about fit, it looks like all of them won't fit like OEM grills. I would be pissed if purchased from TEQ and paid appx double the price than direct from China. That TEQ guy is a snake.

 

How much more than 5 bucks can you get for a little led that cost them less than a buck? I'd say that's way more than fair considering they throw those in w/o charge. TEQ dude charges 30 bucks extra for them if wanted to be included, and he gets the same set up with lights added for nothing as You did, lol.

 

Probably cost them less than $5 to produce the entire grille!!

 

If you must know my master negotiation skills has gotten me to an $8 refund.

 

Just installed mine. Came in 6 days from Alibaba.

 

Goes to show the Chinese seller goes the extra mile and bends over backwards to please their customers. Can't say nothing wrong about those guys! The more I hear about them the more impressive that Chinese seller becomes. Lucky you chose to buy direct from China.
