UPDATE: Currently fighting with the dealer and a local shop about this leveling kit. The dealer says they booked the appointment (which they did right in front of me, on speaker phone) and the local shop says they’ve never called. So what I’ve proposed to the dealer is that they give me a gift card/check for the cost of the kit plus labor at a different shop across town and I’ll schedule my own appointment at my convenience. That way they can be done with the situation and I don’t have to run on their schedule. We’ll see what happens. Hopefully I don’t have to go show my ass. With that being said, now that the cost would be $300 less, can someone point me to a good leveling kit thread? I understand bilstein are the general consensus but just Incase they don’t carry any I’d like to have some options. And yes, before someone chimes in, I’ve used the search function. Just figured someone may be watching a good thread.

Are you using Tiger/Crane style or Eagle Claw?

Nobody can defeat my sifu's Wang Chung style.

Perhaps this issue would be best settled at a tournament? Who knows... you could be The Best Around. No one's ever gonna keep you down!

Coachbuilder seems to be pretty well respected around here with regards to their shims (not sure if they even manufacture true spacer lifts or not). I do know ToyTec does sell spacers and they are also well respected around here. I would check them both out if I was going that route. You seem smart enough to know this already, but I'll just say it: avoid Amazon/Ebay.

I’m using the “I watch Chuck Liddell highlights on replay” technique right now. Throw the haymaker and hope it sticks.

Im not set on any single thing. That would be ignorant of me. I just never had issues with spacers before and wanted to hear opinions. But yes, Amazon and eBay are out of the question on everything except cupholder liners…

My wife is from the same area, the reason it's all spacer lifts is because they are cheap. She was shocked to see how well a properly lifted truck drove.

Yep, I think that's all it comes down to honestly. They'd probably rather get a sale than not.

Plus most around here walk into a shop with no planning and say “I’ve got two hours to spare, can you throw a lift/level on there for me?” Spacers with a person who’s slightly above average in ability can do that no problem. I assume most of the other styles of lift/levels would take more time.

I'm sure that has something to do with it, especially if it's during harvest or planting season.

Rattles like hell, sluggish from a start, not a fan of turbos, and it didn’t ride the best. Very possibly could just be the one I drove was made at 5:00 on a Friday. Actually had a deposit on one in Houston (10+/- hours away) and after the test drive I fortunately was able to get my deposit back.

Edit: That ‘22 I drove was the only one within 200 miles

Update just Incase someone reads this two years from now: Ended up going with the Rough Country 2” Leveling Struts, Part Number 501090. $600+tax out the door with an alignment was what was charged, which the dealer paid half the cost for kit, labor, and full cost of alignment. So far so good, but YMMV.

That's a pretty stellar deal. I think you'll be happier with the complete coilover assembly in the long run.

    Enjoy! (and obviously.... pics??)

Are those the rough county n3 struts? I had great luck with them . Rode like stock did fine for me. As a matter of fact when I replaced them I gave to a buddy to run on his truck.

Yea I ran them awhile until I swapped out for my dobinsons. I think I ran them for like 20k or so before swapping them out. Still look good when removed. Much better than a spacer lift. Ride pretty good offroad too on rough roads.

Coachbuilder is the only guy I listen to...he sells quality parts that can help with an overall lift. I have purchased shackles and spacers...bumper shims...steering kits...and diff drop kit. I recently went from leveling set up to full 3 inches and he made specific recommendations on things he also didn't sell. He even purchased new UCA's for me and had them powder coated red for me....to match coilovers. Dave is the best and very respected on this forum.

Yes it will, if it is a spacer lift and that spacer is placed between the top mount and shock. however, a proper suspension lift under 2 inches should be fine. over 2-3 inches, then there's stress on the cv, steering components unless it's done in a systematic way (not just the suspension it self)

Where I live the 22's are all over the place on lots, most from buyer returns. 21' are all the rage.

I would say sell and buy a Ford, LOL

Seen 1 or 2 on the roads, none at dealers around here. I’m still wondering why some dealers are full of buyer returns.

Honestly I left this morning on a business trip in my company truck and won’t be back until next week. Never got a chance to get it up to Highway speeds. I’ve really got a feeling one of the tires is just out of balance though.
