    Hello!

I am pretty confident I have your front and rear cat plates ready. The front skid plate is being made in the next batch. I can likely send your cat plates in the next week or 2. I am pounding out orders and I am trying to clear my back log so I don’t have people going to the guy who stole my design

Also, FYI for those who want more strength or a stronger off-road skid plate, the 3/8 bolts are only at the rear of the front cat plate because the upper hole in the cross member is slightly too small for a 1/2” bolt. To keep it bolt on, I use the 3/8 bolts, but if you use a 9/16 drill bit, it opens that too hole for a 1/2” bolt, and the plates are already set up for a 1/2” bolt aswell

Dropped off the truck this AM for install by a mechanic friend. Unboxed the plates and was disappointed though I will live with it. The front shield has a mottled discoloration on both sides that doesn't effect the structural integrity just looks odd and like crap. You'll never see them either way which is why the colored powder coating makes no sense to me short of rust prevention on the steel ones. The scratches and such were also there upon unpacking. I feel slighted to a degree as I have not seen this on any of the other posts.IMG_1975.jpgIMG_1974.jpg

IMO, that looks like the box got wet during shipment. No way in hell Tyler would ship plates out looking like that. @Classy63

Agreed, I can't see any situation where @Classy63 is shipping it looking like that.

Is that etched in the aluminum or can it be cleaned or buffed out?

Maybe if you ordered aluminum... My bare steel order from 3/25 hasn't been filled yet, and based on doggiecareman's delivery, I'm not so sure bare steel was a smart idea.

    :(
i reached out to @Classy63 last week and asked if the 8-10 week mark was still realistic on my order and he said he's still aiming for it. I ordered 5/1/22 1/8" steel PC'd black for my PRO. Hoping to see an email or something sent in the next 2-4 weeks.

BTW, if I didn't create an account, do I still get an email stating ship date and tracking info?

The discoloration on the plates is from the plates getting wet, it will clean off with alittle elbow grease.

I’m sure it could be buffed out, there was no signs of water damage to the cardboard so hard to know. The scratches and scuffing would’ve torn through the cardboard if that had been the case from shipping. As I said functionally it doesn’t alter it. I have a covered porch to which the shipment was delivered.

I’m getting ready to use a little bit of fine steel wool and WD-40. As I mentioned, I saw no signs of water impact on the cord board but it’s not that it couldn’t have happened. I’m still glad I received them it’s just threw me back a bit. I know shipping in this current day and age is less than optimal.

WD-40 and relatively fine steel wool started taking it off so I’m not gonna bother shining it as for me it’s a waste of time and I’ll still be happy with the structural integrity and the actual function of it being a deterrent. Here in New England we can only imagine what they would look like after a short while regardless. I know I’m not gonna be spending any time laying underneath my truck oohing and awing under at the cosmetics in any vase.

    You got that right..
Tyler shipped my nut plate Monday.
FedEx should have delivered it Tuesday.

They have no idea what happened to it.
No fault of Tyler, it left Cypress Monday.
    So far 3 days to 251 miles.:eek2:

I'm sure it will show up in a day or 2.

    Thank you, I'm fine though...
In the general span of life, I'm very blessed..
A good job (great insurance), great wife, great grown kids, a nervous dog, a nice home, and a paid-for Tundra (whenever I get it back).

I can still install my plates without the nut plate if I had to, if I were to get the truck.
I'd just send the nut plate back to Tyler to give to someone else.
Last I was told to get my truck back was mid-June and it's mid-June with no truck..

Saying, talons plates is not reference material.

Post references, something showing where the statements were made or anything to show cause and affect or how the situation was handled.
    Anything.

Making baseless claims on a redesigned product is always the best source.:smack:

Wonder if there where any design changes or mishaps in this thread? Hm.

I would be the last person to defend talon’s but my aluminum plates have the stretch marks just like the pictures above. As for the chalking, this batch seemed to have some kinda water or chemical on it, most of the front cat plates have this. Again, not a big deal, easily polished out. These are sold bare, no extra expense is paid to buff or polish the plates

So, I made a mistake and added the spine and gussets to a 3/16 aluminum rear cat plate instead of a 1/4… so if anyone wanted to upgrade their 3/16 aluminum rear cat plate, let me know

I think I am going to price it at a $100 upgrade

Thank you for your honesty Tyler.
Where one may think it’s bashing, others see as inquiring.
    I appreciated the candor.

20220616_134326.jpgSo I finally got my plates. Ordered on February 10th, took 17 weeks to get. I can honestly tell you that I was asking for a refund if they weren't shipped. I was going to have to get them from somewheres because I was tired of worrying about my catalytic converters getting stolen. After so many missed shipping dates I was also worried if I had been taken for $600. Well I'm here to tell you it was worth the wait. My plates were bare steel and when I opened the box they were a little rusty, but with a little sanding they cleaned up good. Granted I am not a painter but no one will see them. I'm happy with the way they turned out and now I can quit worrying. I'm not here to make anyone mad, I'm just giving some honest feedback to Tyler. I have no clue as to what he us dealing with on get materials and I can only guess as to how many orders he gets.
The only thing I can suggest is maybe take a few orders, fill them and take some more. That may not be the best business practice, but at least you could get some rest. But I just want to say thank you @Classy63 for all your do.

I am very glad you are protected now. I am trying to fix my delays, I am already almost to April from being in February earlier this week. The only orders unfulfilled are front skid plate, lifted plates, or 22 plates. All of those will be filled as soon as I can. I am aiming to be through April next week. I know that still puts me a bit behind but I will be happy to be 3+ months closer
