I think we’ve got 2-3 different branches, in the bullpen, at work, I equally egg on all of them during their banter and shit talking about each other. For the most part, it’s a pretty solid bullpen!

I love his coloring. Some dogs are that way with injuries; you just can't get 'em healed up... I gotta say though, I like what you built to keep him from chewing on himself (I'm guessing that's what that is). Those traditional lamp shades the vet issues are just brutal, especially when the dog figures out if he rams the shit out of you with it, it either comes off or gets your attention!

Pretty damn high. Muddy as shit too. Smaller rivers have flooded. Back home some spots fluided as well. A lot of rain recently.

    ……..
    Soooo

the pool noodles were futile! One morning I went out and they were in shreds! so we borrowed a friends lamp shade that was prejanky upon install, and like you said, he’s a fucking tank and just rams into shit!!! He’s also long and noodly enough, that he can still reach around it!!! We then borrowed another friends that was nicer but not as lengthy, so we put the kabosh on that one. We’ve been doing peroxide and triple anti biotic, but this morning I went old school and cut some aloe and slapped it on after the peroxide. It’s better, but it still needs time and calming attitudes from his punk ass!

Sounds like he needs a trazadone and benedryl cocktail till that heals. :D Just kidding!!! Yeah, it's so hard to keep em off it. They make a soft cone called "comfy cone" which work fairly good on mild dogs, but if they want to get at it in one of those they will (just without the damage to your house or legs).... One of the hardest injuries I've ever dealt w/to get healed up was the tip of a tail on a spaniel (he was a spinner and would just keep breakin it open)...

I hope he gives you a little bit of a break on it though and let's it heal up!!!!!

………we have kids, we know about Benadryl…….
That cone we borrowed from the other friend, was the soft cone I think, but it didn’t seem long enough to prevent him.

speaking of spinners, everytime I tell him to sit, every single time, he does one clockwise circle and then sits. I didn’t say spin, just sit!

It's never easy :(, and you quickly learn what little nuances about them you were most tuned into once they are gone. A new buddy always seems to help, but there are always certain triggers that create a flood of memories...

I've caught myself doing that same thing numerous times (more so now that I'm older), but I think it's good. It helps us remember them and keeps them close to us and our hearts, even though they are gone.

we did a at home deal when it was time, and I’m thankful, it was so much better(as terrible as that sounds) doing it at home and crying in comfortable privacy, than a vets office.

I’ve probably mentioned it here before; the saddest part was his little partner, she was literally lost. He was the muscle and she was the brains. She sounded pitiful without his baritone backing her, and she knew it:( she was also the alpha so it was hard to see her without a mate to overlord hahha she was also probably in the stages of going blind and deaf with him, so I love to see the contact she makes with Django, haha she definitely lets him know when to stop in the morning. I separate them when they get fed in the morning so she doesn’t get aggressive when he finishes his chicken first.

I agree w/this 100%. My vet back home would come to the house, he'd come out to your vehicle, etc. He was so accommodating, and I don't think he really understood how much of a positive impact that made with his clients.

One of the biggest hardships I've found in moving to a much much smaller town is vet services. I had obviously left behind my established resources (vet care, etc.), but this is supposed to be a very dog friendly community; yet no local care past 6pm, Sundays, etc...

I'm dreading when the time comes for Rudy (my oldest), as that flexibility and service that I'm use to isn't going to be there. He deserves better; they all do! I really struggle w/this!

It is amazing to see how they adapt once their pack structure changes. There's always a chance for problems w/new members being introduced into the mix, but more often than not they find their way to fit in and quickly learn from each other. Humans could learn from this dynamic, but we are generally too stubborn.

He certainly is a beautiful dog. Sorry to hear about Dozer. He sounded like he was a loyal family member which I’m sure Jr will grow up to be as well.

    @FrenchToasty Sorry for your loss,
I know how hard that can be. I lost my faithful friend (Figo) of 18 years a year and half ago. He was my pal that went pretty much everywhere with me. He loved my office, meeting clients and thier kids. He would go on adventures with me. Loved camping and come on the kayak with me. Loved my friends pontoon boat, where he would grab the empty water bottles and fling them off the boat. A game he would play with my friends children.

A couple of days before he moved on to his next journey, he made an effort to say good bye to everyone in the family. The night of his passing he wanted to be near me and curled up next to me. I was there when he came into this world and there when he left. I wasn't planning on getting the same breed again, but a breeder reached out to me and told me of an upcoming litter. Needless to say I didn't end up with one, but we decided on getting two this time around. The wierdest part the female, looks very much like him as a pup, including a mark on her chest that he had as well. Her mannerisms are so uncanny, she does things that my last boy did as well.

Figo looks like royalty! That’s awesome that he knew he needed to say goodbye(as I get all watery eyes) that pic of dozer, was a week of a lot of lasts, it wasn’t easy, but we spoiled the shit out of him. It seems harder on me now when dogs pass then it did when I was a kid. Maybe because I know my time is getting shorter too? Wife keeps findings dogs that resemble our beloved Clifford that passed about 15 years ago. The first Clifford replacement was Tank. That dude was a jerk..... Tank passed and now we have Forrest that I spoil rotten (lessons learned).

Feeling all domestic today. Grocery store, laundry, and cleaning the bathroom. Got $14 worth of groceries for only $47, so I'm feeling pretty good about myself.

Hey can anyone explain why when I put my shirts in the washer outside out, they come out of the dryer inside out; but if I put my shirts in the washer inside out, they also come out of the dryer inside out? Seems like one of those mysteries like quantum physics or how Reese's Peanut Butter Cups taste so good.

Also mowed; you know, to keep my man card current.
