Looking to upgrade the 2015 SR5 non-JBL (has front dash speakers and amp under seat).

**Going to add a sub either way—powered or separate amp.

Not sure how to creat a poll, but given the choice of either:

    1. Replace head unit/receiver.

    OR

    2. Add new 4 channel amp and new speakers?

Might end up doing both, but which is the BEST BANG FOR BUCK?

Replacing the head unit won’t help with low end imo.

I’d vote for amp and sub and new door speakers. But you know where this rabbit hole goes, don’t you?

You know the right answer - replace everything. :D

If you can only do one and are committed to adding a sub, I’d do all the speakers and a 5 channel amp. Then you’ll just need to do the HU later.

You can start with leaving the OEM HU in, you won't like it and will end up going aftermarket. It's fine to start with just the speakers & adding an amp but I suggest planning on doing it all eventually.

I do. Remember to budget for the sound deadening.

This picture made me go WHAT? I was trying to figure out what the duct for the water heater had to do with the Tundra (before I realized it was the water heater) lol

That’s from the Cummins swap and smoke stacks out the bed.

Now I think it's the heater duct. To which I ask why does my house have a furnace? I never use it.

    lol

I've re-done everything but replace the HU and that will happen one day. Glad I went speakers first though because the sound is so much better than it was.

Believe it or not, I was working in the garage to stay warm since I did the install during our 45 days of winter.

I replaced amp with a 5 channel, added sub behind rear seat, and put Infinity Kappas with crossovers in front doors. I was going to replace the rear speakers but sound is fine for me. I have a little more power to the fronts. Not sure replacing the rears will gain much improvement.
