I got my Sequoia with 126k, I went to replace the fluids and they looked new so I waited. I did it last week and sent samples to Blackstone, first one in is the front diff (I sent the front diff & Transfercase in first as I was out of kits & wanted to get my cat protection back on ASAP)

I sent the rear a week later so it may be a week or so for that one and I will post the reports as I get them.

As don't know the age of the fluids but thought they looked new I'm confused by this result. I'd appreciate the collective wisdom, please.

Here is the transfercase report, I cut off insolubles accidentally, they were 0.3 & expected said 0.3.

The way a fluid looks is not always an indication of condition or service mileage.

Both most likely have been in service for a while, and you did the right thing by changing them.

I have changed Amsoil and Mobil 1 gear oil with 60,000 and higher miles (in my 04 Tundra), and the color was like new.

Since it is running well nothing to be concerned about? Just old oil most likely?

I wouldn't be concerned. Those lubes could be factory fill or installed at 100k miles ago, so the wear metals are likely in line with that long service. if you drive it 10k or 15k miles, take sample and send it off. I bet you'll find the metals are way lower.

I'll take a bit out of the rear (that I'll replace) in 10k or so since the cat defense is a PITA to R&R.

    Thanks!

Thanks, it's just odd. But now there's new Amsoil in all of them so We'll see what they say in 10k
