You're a good man, that has already been established over the years.

I would have tolerated it for my wife's mother, but she passed when my wife was 12.
We did a lot for her father, after she reconciled with him in 2018 after 25 years, and we took care of him until he died in 2020.

It's her 2 aunts that were a PITA.
They always tried to replace her MOM, and then say, 'Look what I did for you'.

My wife finally had an epiphany years ago and realized how toxic these people were in her family.
She wrote them all off; aunts, uncles, cousins, both sides of her parental family, all of them.
Except 1, her cousin/brother, and I dearly love him and his family..
I support her in whatever she wants.

Hell, I haven't talked to my oldest sister in 15 years.
She is a negative miserable person that only wants everyone else to be as miserable as she is.
I have no time for it..

Took the kids to a college summer league game last night. The local team was playing the Brockton Rox. If you look at the roster you’ll see some names that look like a 2000’s all star roster. On the team are the sons of 5 former major league players.

We had the opportunity to watch a few rising stars playing some college ball several years back in Vegas, including Bryce Harper. College of Southern Nevada (a smaller JC) in Henderson apparently has one of the best baseball programs in the country, and Bryce and several others came through CSN. Their field was only about 1.5 miles from our home, so it was easy to go out and grab a game...

I'm glad those guys took the time to interact w/you guys. Days like that make for summer highlights!

Very cool! I went to school with Keith Foulke. Didn’t know him very well though. He was a couple of years older than me. My brother in law can’t stand him. I think mainly because they played baseball together their whole lives and he’s the reason my BIL didn’t get to pitch very often.

 

Spent some down time with friends at a cabin near Pittsburg, TX this weekend. Lots of whiskey and cigars, good food, and not a lot of worry. Caught a fish, a couple of naps, and a sunburn. Good to be me.
