OT but I thought this would be the forum to ask in.

My wife found this guy hiding in one of her flower pots this AM. sI assume this is a Kingsnake? He was very shy and didn't want to be found. We do not like snakes but we can tolerate this guy if he will help keep rodents and rattlesnakes away. All of our neighbors say how good it is to have them in your yard.

(The plastic forks keep the neighborhood cats from using the pot as a littler box. )

I don't know much about Nope Ropes so I looked this up for you.

    https://reptilehow.com/kingsnakes-in-arizona/

It looks like a California King snake to me. I don't know that I would trust the info from them because for some reason they are saying that snake makes a good pet. Ummm, NO THEY DON'T!

    Some.
A kingsnake is a good type of nope rope. Basically the flat rate package of snakes. If it fits, it eats. Rodents, birds, frogs, and most importantly other snakes including venomous ones.

That's a really pretty king. I wish we had that species over here in Alabama.

When we moved into our first house here in AZ I shot a rattlesnake off my front step. Here in the desert everything will bite, poke or kill you.

Fortunately it's not a danger noodle, which have particularly bad attitudes and venom.

My dad is 86 and every since I can remember he calls all snakes stompers . I asked him why when I was young and he said because if I see one I will stomp it.
