Swapped out some secondary springs on the FOX dual rate shocks on the KRX. After I added the custom cage, 33" spare, tool bag, and cooler, the stock secondaries were screaming for mercy. Right Coast Offroad replacement secondaries will hopefully solve the issue. I've heard good things so I'll find out soon enough. If I don't like them, I'll go with a Shock Therapy full spring kit. 20220506_204226.jpg

…. and the list continues. Green sticker plate, tire repair kit, soft shackles, vented battery cover plate and a usb rechargeable interior light.

Loaded up and ready to head to Windrock Park after work. Can't wait to try out the new springs on the coilovers and haven't had the KRX to Windrock yet. This is gonna be a blast. Windrock is one of the best rock crawling parks on the east coast.

Went riding for a couple days up around Casper Mountain/Muddy Mountain. Had a blast, but I hate cleaning off the mud. I even went slow trying to reduce splatter.

Reach out to Jared (call and leave a message if no one answers), if only to see if you can narrow down a timeframe. I had plans to do the northern portion of the AZPT and reached out just so I could know if I'd possibly be receiving it before my trip. After he got it back from the powder coater, he sent me tracking that it was shipped that Friday, I received it the following Tuesday. Even though it was very well wrapped/padded, UPS still managed to damage the spare tire mount. Not willing to deal with the hassle of putting in a claim or sending it back, I straightened it out myself. Hopefully you wont have to deal with any of that, post up some pics when you got it all installed.

I’ve been in touch with them a handful of times since the delay began. I let them know a month ago I really needed it for my trip last weekend and it didn’t seem to have any impact on their production or getting the item out timely.

I’ll definitely post pics whenever it does arrive. Thankfully we didn’t run out of fuel or get a flat.
Midnight run over the mountain to Apache and back to the dam.

I got out on the quad and racked up 40km the other day. This is where it all ended, we’ve had a cool, wet spring and the mountains aren’t ready to give in just yet. Thought I was going to have to pull winch rope a few times to get back out, it was still 18” deep in places.

Yup. They never quite have the rigs setup fully from the factory. Always a few things to add.

Well - the rack came. Wish I could say everything was perfect. Why would they sell and send a mount that uses 4 bolts and then fab a plate with two holes?

Man, that sucks. At this point I'd press hard for enough of a discount to cover having to get it re-powdercoated.

The explanation - he knows better than the engineers that designed the rotopax mount and wants the rotopax gas can he sells to be mounted without the baseplate (the one he sells) there by removing the designed offset necessary to get the support notch of the locking handle in the proper position in the gas can cutout. Instead of resting on the perfectly machined groove of the locking handle the gas can is now essentially sandwiched between the locking handle and the backside of the plate. Guy is a hell of a welder but ignoring engineered elements of items you’re incorporating is shocking to see from such a high scale fabricator IMO.

Sell me a manufacturer engineered rotopax mount and then tell me to throw a crucial element of it in the garbage because you’d rather not measure and drill the two extra holes? Makes no sense on a $1000 item.

Yeah, that's kinda dumb. I'd be making that known in online reviews along with the stupid long wait and BS excuses. I don't care how good your product is if you can't deliver when you say you will, and the incorrect mount is just lazy.

The trailer spare is a bit smaller than the X3 tire, but it gave me something to work with. I really want to try to keep the spare as low as possible. Thinking about following the lines of something like this.

    Exerpt from my review:

Arranged to get my RZR Trail 900 in for its first service and to get the winch bumper and winch installed. Dropped it off, and a bit later got a call that Polaris didn't ship the hardware for the bumper. I was bummed, but these things happen. Told them "no worries, just do the service" which I paid for on pick up. Loaded it up and left it on the trailer with a cover for a bit over a week waiting for my work schedule to align with theirs.

Dropped it off this morning as they were opening up and moving machines out front for display. Again, the in store and shop front desk were pleasant. Took the shop guy out to my machine to pick his brain and go over stuff. Showed the blank where I wanted the winch control routed(far right side), and we both noticed that the machine looked to be low on coolant. He said they could do what I needed no problem and they'd top up the coolant. He also said there was one machine ahead of mine and they'd get right on mine. "Should be ready this afternoon."

Got a call at 4:50 PM that my RZR was ready. Great! I worked last night so the extra sleep was kinda nice. I got there, paid a bit over $1600 and was told they "couldn't get the grille back on, so it's in the machine." I asked for the manual for the winch and went out to inspect it. I told them if the grille isn't on it it wasn't installed properly. After a few "it wouldn't fit" responses he finally said he'd have to take the bumper off to get it back on. Then that's what you do, because this isn't installed properly!

Then he shows me the controls/remote, and I just had to bite my tongue. There are 4 unused blanks in my dash, and I asked for the right most one to be used. Guess where he installed it... drilled a hole in my dash and put it down by the driver's knee. The whole point of a blank is to keep a factory look, and to be able to revert if you want. Now, maybe, just maybe it's not possible to use a blank for this install, but why in the world would you not CALL THE CUSTOMER BEFORE DRILLING?!?! At least to find out where they want it. Naaah. Let's just stick it by your knees in the tightest cab model RZR on the market.

I left it there to get the grille installed correctly, but this is why people distrust mechanics and wind up with a shop full of tools and spend their weekends installing stuff instead of using it. It's the only way to make sure it's done right. I don't have high hopes for my machine not being damaged in the process, for any torque spec to have been followed, or that my initial service was done even remotely correct. It was low on coolant after all. Sucks that I'll have to tow my RZR over a hundred miles for any maintenance or accessories when these guys are in my backyard.

I need to win the lotto so I can have a shop and tools.

    Trying not to mod it
Well, got an update. The bumper requires a different grille, and they dropped the ball on that. Gave them two options to have a happy customer 1)a full refund including all labor, or 2) they provide the new grille at no cost to me.

So, once they get the grille and I can pick it up I'll post pics. Also pointed out a gouge in the bumper for a touch up, and that the coolant is still low from the service they did last time. We'll see how it goes, but I'm hopeful.

I can’t like that, but I see examples of that crap everywhere.

No need for lotto to DIY a ton of stuff though, put the money you’re spending on shitty service (and your time, fuel, etc, to take it there and back) into some tools, and even just work on it outside in nice weather. A couple layers of large cardboard makes a nice temporary shop floor…

Not sure on a Rzr, but servicing the Pioneer hasn’t been terrible. This all makes me overfilling and having to drain a qt of oil look like a minor inconvenience in comparison.
