Got mine all installed and good to go already!

 

Just received notification that my Tundra cat guards will be shipping out today! I placed the order on 5/16, and received all the other parts I ordered within a few days. So they were not far off from their stated estimate of 2-3 weeks on the Tundra cat guards, but I too have been antsy to get these installed so I can rest a little easier.

 

Just got the shipping notice for mine, too.

 

Same its about damn time......

 

Was really hoping to have them before Friday night because were headed off to Myrtle beach next week. I wanted to get them on ASAP! But at FedEx's shipping speed i see it being easily a week or two before I get them.....

 

Got my shipping notification this morning also. I was hoping to have them before having to park at the airport for my current vacation.

 

Yay!!!!! Finally have my confirmation,,,,FedEx is going to drag their ass, I mean guards to my house sometime in the next 2 weeks.

No but Fedup is terribly slow nowadays and seems like everything I get that comes Fedup usually stops and gets held up for days at a location or the label gets ripped off or is unreadable and has to get a new one. Its absolutely ridiculous.....

 

Did you get an email today saying to pickup? How does the local option work?

 

If it's available in your area, rent a car. Book it round trip so you have one reserved to take home from the airport too. Depending on how long your trip is, cost could be a wash. Bonus is peace of mind from not leaving your nice vehicle unattended in an airport parking lot.

 

No, for me good ole U.S.A. Its more or less an inside joke on this forum as to the "turnaround" for any words or actions by RCI concerning their convertor guards. All things considered the quality of their skid plates are top notch, so should their guards be as well. Just trying to be patient. Supply chain issues are inevitable.

 

My order has shipped separately and both instances fedex has delivered a day early. The cat guards are expected to show up friday. CO to VA in 3 days. Not bad. I ordered on 5/17 as with many of you.

3 weeks is OK for custom made parts in my book. I'm slowly getting used to waiting 8 weeks for some machine shops. Pandemic is stupid. Can't even get raw material sometimes!

 

I ordered May 23rd. Sounds like I have another couple weeks of looking at my trans cover.

 

Considering we were all chomping at the bit to get our orders in as soon as RCI would take them, I wasn't surprised there would be a delay as they didn't have time to scale up production and build backstock of ready to ship items. I ordered full skids for the Tundra, and trans/tc skids for the 4R in addition to cat plates for both. As with your order, I had all but the Tundra skids within a few days.

 

How's this irony, I bought the RCI engine skid for my Tundra exactly 4 years ago, found this in my gmail...

 

They had the item designed and kept saying it would be a few weeks before it was released. That should have been the build up time. 1-3 weeks isn’t a long wait, but when it’s going on 4 weeks and no official response doesn’t really help calm anyone down. I expected a wait but we have no idea of the quantity they produce vs what was ordered in the first couple of weeks.

 

I think they were first in last out.

 

No action here for a while, guess you all received orders?

Instructions were less than great. What was the short black bar with the M8x100mm screws for? I didn't use it.

 

If it's the piece I'm thinking of, it should have had some clip on nutserts, and went across the crossmember to attach the front of the transfer case skid and the back of the engine/transmission skid. I'm curious how you were able to tighten the nuts up in there without using that bar? I'd have preferred to use the carriage bolts, but couldn't get any kind of wrench nor my hand up in there.
