Honestly I really like the look of the first gen, not huge like every other full size truck. I've seen some that are really well taken care of and they look awesome. I'm currently in an 07 Access Cab PreRunner with 2.4L I4....(I hope) it'll be like upgrading to a double cab long bed Tacoma but with a V8 :D

Thanks everyone! Maybe newb question but what does everyone consider "high mileage"? The tundra I'm going to look at is an 06 with 178k miles, I read that timing belt recommended change is every 90k miles, anything else besides water pump and frame rust I should be on the lookout for? Asking price is 11,500, any thoughts?

@COMiamiFan thank you! I'm sorry I should've added that its double cab limited 4x4 and towards the low end of KBB fair price range, I meant to ask if that's realistic compared to what people are selling these for in real life

Yes, I sold my 06 (2wd double cab sr5) with about 195k miles on it 2 years ago for $12k so that seems about right.

Make sure to bargain the he'll out of it..10 years old..178k miles.. For toyota 178 k is nothing..however for the American market life expectancy it's 78k past it.. They might struggle to sell it leaving you room to bargain..

So when I checked underneath it there wasn't much rust but there was small amounts of orange clay, there was a sharp high pitched whining sound and a check engine light....I told the dealer to run codes and get back to me...couple days and nothing haha we'll see, I'm not too worried, just keep looking
