I put a deposit down on an SR5 CM 4x4 about a month ago.
It looks like base MSRP has jumped $700 in last week or so.

I guess I can expect to see this come up when I actually go to pick it up mid July.

Several dealers here range from $2k -$10k.
But no market adjustment on this one. Specifically went to this dealer because they only sell at MSRP.

I noticed this jump too… When I put my deposit down the dealer sent over a “Retail Buyers Order” sheet that lists my OTD price and was signed by both of us…

I called sales guy when I saw the increase and he said the price on my sheet is what I’ll pay if I decide to purchase when it arrives… Hoping that is the case… Time will tell I suppose…

When I purchased a couple weeks back, mid May, I asked the sales guy if thought they would start seeing more trucks come through.. as mine was the first 1794 they got.

He thought it was going to get worse as far as availability and that Toyota across the board was raising their MSRP prices by 3 or 6% in June (I can’t remember which).

The market adjustments are lame! It’s like people selling toilet paper for $10 a roll because of supply issues.

Wow that's crazy. $700 is quite the mid year jump in msrp. My Lightning went up $100 on the destination fee. Pissed me off un case the BBB passed it was 80,065. But I should take delivery next month and be ok.

Confirmed with my dealer. $700 MSRP increase by Toyota to the base MSRP on June 2nd

Dealer gave me the option to remove the Toyoguard ($699) to adjust. This way i’m not out any “good” options. lol

Hopefully no more surprises by the time the truck gets here.

Not to worry, by next fall once we’re officially in a bad recession, if you can afford to buy a Tundra at all there will be trucks in stock and deals well below MSRP.

Between high interest rates to finance vehicles, and very high fuel prices demand for trucks is about to take a big hit in the next 12 months.

I have a truck that should be arriving any day, I will be seriously frustrated if I am surprised with an extra $700 after already agreeing on price.

They can't increase the price as far as I'm aware. If you've signed any document or put in a deposit you should be locked in.

Unless you've fully purchased and financed prior to arrival (seen it a few times) you're SOL. Price locking isn't a guarantee and most say pricing is at time of delivery.

DrZoidberg is correct. A deposit only gets you a guarantee on the truck.

Yeah, I suspect that I will get charged the new price once it comes in. Will definitely follow up though.

SUCKS for those of us who had our trucks built 4/29 and have yet to receive them. Seems like Toyota would just want to delay shipping on all these so they can increase the MSRP then deliver and charge more for them. I guess we’ll see what happens, and I’m not holding my breath, but honestly I signed a purchase agreement at a fixed price and I expect them to honor it. But at the end of the day I still want the truck so push comes to shove obviously as we consumer we just take up the behind…

The hilarious thing there is that there was never a supply issue. I know people that work in the TP industry and they never slowed production. It was a shortage caused by idiots buying way more than normal. If everyone had not panicked and bought more than normal there never would have been an issue.

Yeah dealers could take the hit. My Ford dealer did when the F150 came in and they state changed their dealer fee requirements between order and delivery. Difference of $300. I also know a lot of folks that ordered Raptors were price protected BUT that was a bigger $3k jump

Supply and demand. As long as some people are willing to pay, the dealership will keep pushing it. Unless you really need a truck now, just wait and sit on the sideline. TP, on the other hand....:D
Maybe the people buying over inflated trucks are the same ones that stocked up on TP in their garage...:notsure:

Metal prices are up huge since the start of the war in Ukraine, expect additional increases across the board for cars in the next few months. My hope is that Sequoia pricing already has this factored in considering first deliveries probably wont be until September/October time frame
