Whelp I guess it's about time I started one of these. I snagged a 2017 platinum I think 5 months ago now. Build goals are to be able to keep up with my old man's TAV stage 2+ and enjoy exploring with the fam.

We plan on also doing a few Baja runs as well. I'm sure I'm missing something lol. Stay tuned! Future planning for full back half build and either a custom J arm kit or lsk race kit upfront.

While you're early in your build you might as well skip the same mistake as other LTs before you have done and go straight to 3" wide leaf springs - Deaver makes these wide SUA on special order but requires you to change out mounts, hangers, and shackles to support the additional width. Anything less will flatten out.

Check out @Papa Smurf (he's the one that came up with it) and has a thread on it. @Vizsla has it on as well. I'm a slow truck kinda guy so I don't have it on my truck but when your friends with LT are all switching to 3" springs and loving it, they're doing something right.

Build update- As future planning for a Magnuson I've sourced a full install kit brand new at a great deal. Now just need the head unit.

Found a Magnuson/TRD Blower so we now have a complete inbound. Need to find time for install after we get the long travel and final body work taken care of.

Changed the radio surround from silver to black which required taking it all apart. Also added the rago dash mount and plate.

I have a hard time believing that’s with everyone in the truck and a full tank.

With 285/75 LTs, an RCI skid, dual battery, fridge, two 5gal jugs of water, and meager camping gear, we’re 7400lb with everyone in and a full tank of fuel.

We’re pretty fit with young kids; not a lot of humanity in that number, lol.

Small mods today. Finally mounted my element fire extinguisher and added the desert does it seat jackers. The seat is way more comfortable.

Finally received my extended skid plate for my SS Built front bumper. He even sent me a back up skid incase I beat up the bumper skid. Installing the extended one before the trip.

I have asked about this before, but no one responded with anything useful. I have a gape in my skids from SS Built and RCI. How much did they charge for this extended skid?

I also plan on doing the RCI. I ordered this when they did the bumper an its was like $250 I think. I'll share pics with you once I have it mounted.

Finally got time to install the new skids with the extension. Took some fitting but lined up well. Hoping the rci skid will work with these. Next up full long travel and bedsides go in. Pics to come!

    Build update 6/13/22

Dropped the truck off for the long travel/spring under and bedsides install. Hopefully wrapped up Thursday then hit some dirt before the drive back to Oregon. The shop is filming and documenting the build so I should have that after to share.

Also, box 2 for the blower arrived!
