How to: Track your Tundra at the Factory

This is a temp VIN but it shows up on the site. Silver Limited. Category A. Pre sold status is false. Did you put a deposit on this one?

 

I just received a text from the dealer 3 hours ago. They advised me that the system shows the truck has arrived at the yard. Hopefully they will deliver it to the dealer by the end of the week. But the system still shows status “f”. So the system is behind.

 

From my understanding the status will be F until it’s actually on a truck to your dealer.

 

Yeah, I did put a deposit down. I can't tell, does it show a build date? I appreciate looking this up, for reference are you doing this on a Mac or PC? thx

 

Doesn't look like an ETA is set. Mine is the exact same situation. A status with dealerhold and no ETA. Dealer said it will be finished this week, we will see right?

As of Friday, screenshot from the dealers tracking system shows "In transit to railhead or port Annapolis Junction 5/25". Not sure if that means that 5/25 was the last update the system received (because Friday was 5/27) or what the deal is because this would conflict with the 5/11 date the dealer gave me prior. Have family vacations coming up and really want to take this truck on them instead of the '19 Highlander or '20 Taco!

 

build date 5/12 ship date 5/16 , port arrival date 5/30 . Pending truck delivery to dealer now, In Utah region.

 

This was on a PC. I didnt see a build date. Category A, from what I understand, is still in Assembly.
On mine it shows sold status being true, I noticed yours says false. That's why I asked about the deposit. Maybe it'll change when it's actually built.

 

Mine says false with a deposit down.

 

It would be more fun to track your Tundra at, say, Watkins Glen, don't you think? ;-)

VIN not found. Could mean it's been built and you'll need to get your permanent VIN or you're in a region (believe I've seen southeast) and this method doesn't work.

 

Same here, wouldn't read much into that field value.

 

Got it, thanks for trying. Yes, I live in the southeast so maybe that's what's going on. My hybrid 1794 is supposed to be the first delivered in the southeast and I was told it was being delivered this past weekend which then turned into this week since it was pushed back a little bit. I was just curious if I could see the status of where it's at now.

 

Can a dealer possibly pull up my vin and see where my truck is or give insight on how to track it by train? It has an "F" next to status so I know its on a train somewhere. Thank you.

There is already a thread for this. You cannot track on the rail with only a VIN. You'll need more info from your dealer on which train it is on and a container number I believe.

I think we were both hoping for someone with dealer connections to get that information for us. Unfortunately, my dealer is hit/miss when I ask him for updates.

Seems Montana/Idaho/Eastern WA are having a tough time getting delivery from the Butte/Silver Bow yard. I just took my name off the list for a Limited TRD OR here in town. Love our sales guy here, but he said they're having a lot of trouble getting them and it could still be months even though it was built mid-April. Anyways, we are in a big time crunch of selling our home, etc. and I was able to track a TRD OR down through Klamath Falls that's "supposed" to be delivered by end of week. Hoping to fly in and pick up on Saturday, but not holding my breath.

 

This worked great for me with a temp vin.
expecting TRD Pro at the end of the month.

I have $$$ down and a contract at MSRP but it says not a pre-sold unit which kind of makes me nervous

 

If my build date is June 9th. When could Expect to see my truck arrive in Massachusetts? Anyone have an idea what the shipping time is from Texas to mass?

 

I've just seen a few mentions saying this method doesn't work for the southeast region but not 100% sure. Are you able to get your permanent VIN from the dealer? Your truck may be listed on their website now also.

 

Wouldn't worry about that, bunch of us here with deposits on specific trucks and the presold line is FALSE.

 

Wife just said "I can buy a pair of socks on Amazon and literally track the delivery vehicle from the warehouse to the house yet getting an update on the location of a $60k+ truck is like pulling teeth." LMAO

 

Really wish this worked for SET orders...
