I have a 3.4L and someone is parting out a 4.7L. Am I correct and thinking that most non-engine related parts will be interchangeable? I'm looking at getting a power steering rack from a 4.7L part out.

The best way to tell is to use the Toyota online parts system to see if your truck and the donor truck use the same part number for whatever you are interested in. If they do, you're good. If they don't, you're not.

While it may fit, the steering rack is not a super simple thing to replace and they seem to go out on a regularish basis. Seems it may be better to get a new or remanufactured one instead of removing the donor rack and your rack then installing used in your truck. Just my .02

Good insight. Are there any manufacturers you've had bad experiences with?

I haven't replaced mine yet. Let @bmf4069 tell you how bad the rack job is. Just going off of what I've heard from others.
