Platinum black on black with advanced package. Love the truck and ride.
Cabin seems quiet except that annoying fake engine noise through the speakers.
    Seats are comfortable.
Engine/tranny is smooth combo with good mapping. Not much gear hunting. Throttle response is good and dont need a throttle commander.
Drives way more effortlessy than my 2020tacoma that i traded in. Didnt get nearly as fatigued as driving my tacoma. Driving the tacoma was like a workout while driving the tundra is like a stroll in the park.
Things i disliked from my 4hr drive home with the truck.
1)The ventilated/cool seats are loud and barely keeps my butt cool
2)HUD cant adjust left or right?
    3) turning radius could be better
4)all the cameras but they dont use them for changing lanes.should of been Blinker on and show that lane.
5)one 12volt and its on top of the dash

After 1k miles and trying different air suspension settings the comfort makes the truck too “loafty bouncey”. Guess would be good at low speed offroading to soak up the bumps. And yes adjusted the stock linkage to riase “normal” ride height to prevent bump stops hitting which smooths out ride quality.

Turn the fake engine sound off; personally, I like it better off. Yes, the ventilated seats are the loudest I've ever had in a truck. I don't really understand the rhyme nor reason to their operation, but in general, these are by far the best at cooling over any vehicle I've owned. I will say, sometimes they blow a lot harder and get a lot cooler than other times, not really sure why. I am assuming it has something to do with outside temp or cabin temp, but haven't been able to correlate anything yet.

I also agree with all the technology, they are a little behind with lane change safety. My last several vehicles had an audible alarm if I turned on my blinker and someone was in my blind spot. I predict it won't take long for someone to come along and mock or somehow refer to being able to safely drive without added safety technology. This is true, but I like safety and convenience.

If that is your list of major gripes, you are doing better than most my friend....or just about any Gen 3 owner.

I make 2 tight 90's daily turning from county road to my driveway then into my garage. I've had 3 Tundras for over 300k miles and I have the 5.5 foot bed and the turning radius seems unoticable difference from my previous tundras. Yes the ac seats are loud but I believe they function better than my 18 platinum did but I'm not sure. As to the seat fan speed going up and down I think this is something only in ECO mode. If you put the truck in normal I dont think the fan speed changes to improve effieciency.

Coming from a 2018 Ram limited and a f150 platinum the tundra rides much smoother and handles a lot better. The entertainment display on the ram had a better layout and the cooling seats on the ram was better. I agree with
Donas that the cooling seats on the tundra are strange in that they sometimes work and other times just make noise. The a/c is the same way. Sometimes it cools better than other times. So far I'm not regretting the purchase.

Are these easter eggs? On the windshield and headlight housings.

yes, but toyota is just very late to the game. i mean everyone has been doing this for years, some have been doing it at least a decade or longer.

Those are easter eggs. If you look, that is Morse code on the windshield. The TRD Off Road decals have small Tundras hidden in them if you look close.

Tundras ventilated seats, correct me if I'm wrong, don't blow air from the air conditioning system. From my understanding they use the air from under the seat, basically it is just a fan in the seat. So the cooler the trucks interior air, the cooler the air blowing through the seats.

Interesting. Maybe it seems like it blows harder sometimes because the air is cooler at times and can be felt more? I don't recall which brand it was, but one of my last trucks (if I was to guess, Ram 1500) actually pulled air in vs blew for the cooling effect. It was very odd, even putting your hand against the seat, it felt like it was blowing. I just assumed that's what they all did, guess not LOL.

unfortunately everyone call the seats heated/cooled when toyota actually calls them ventilated. i think only the lexus LS series actually has a dedicated cooling duct for the seats to actually be called cooled. all other toyota's just use the ambient air temp at the fan location to cool the seats. so if you run the a/c and set the vents to floor you will actually get colder air sent to the underseat vent to be used by the fan.

I just picked up my platinum on Thursday. This is my first Toyota and one thing that doesn’t make sense to me is that the BSM doesn’t beep at you if you turn your blinker on when it detects a vehicle. My Mazda’s do that and it’s a nice audible help to not change lanes into someone.

The perforation on the seats also don’t cover the entire seat so the ventilation only gets my upper back and my legs. I don’t know who thought that one through. I need some air flow all the way to my butt and lower back.

Overall though, I think Toyota did a great job on the truck.

its a trade off of durability and having the holes probably since most of our fat a$$es are in that area and tend to put the most stress in that area.

Any way to extend the remote start run time? Only 10min run time. Anyway to remote start from the keyfob?
Hooked up the techstream and turned off seatbelt chime, turned off the fake v8sound(so much quieter), turned on key fob window down/up feature with sunroof disabled.

Thanks for the strait forward review of your truck. Not to rattle any bones here but I feel most people do not understand how ventilated seats work. They do not blow air but in fact pull air from the cabin into the seat. A car sitting in the sun would take the fan blowing through the seat forever to cool the seat all the while blowing insanely hot air over your butt and back. Since your a/c can cool the vehicle quickly the idea is to pull air from the cabin through the seat therefore basically preventing your body heat from causing you to have a sweaty mess on your backside. I'm absolutely not a fan of the new 2022 purely due to the monstrosity of the front end and pray they adopt the Sequoia version. What I due love is the multitude of reviews including yours that talk about the incredible shifting with the new 10-speed and its power.

most factory remote starts will only run about 10-15 mins.

easier to get after market and have them set it higher and for less cost than the oem yearly pricing. i think toyota charges like $80 year for the remote start feature. i have my 14 4runner and 18 tundra set at 25mins due to the cold winters up here in ND.

the big question is, is the cost break even of buying/installing 3rd party remote start worth the cost of just using the oem remote start?

3-4yrs is roughly the cost of aftermarket remote starts not including labor which can run another $80-$120. you would have to keep the vehicle 5+ years to break even and then save money over the oem yearly cost.

drone mobile charges like $60yr if you buy 5yrs up front for the basic plan.

if you can find a plan under mycarcontrol that uses the same module as the drone mobile systems, those run about $40-$50 yr with only a yearly renew option.

So all those cameras record an image probably during crash. Says toyota will release the trucks “black box” to law enforcement if requested.

Seems to be a little too loose a policy, in my opinion. A request shouldn't be sufficient, this requires a warrant. And for the record, I'm pro-law enforcement, did it for 20 years, lol. We need a happy medium between Apple and Toyota!

That looks bad imho to see all the way through. Anyone sell wheel well liners that cover the side too?

For the sounds to be turned off is this something the dealer must do?
