I think the general consensus is no - a few people have tried without luck.

Took it thru a DIY car wash today, honestly only leakage was minimal from tailgate after blasting it straight on at the seal. Really impressed, not sure the value of this can be beat!!

Was hoping to get 1000$ for it, but I’ve been told you can buy one brand new shipped for
That. Not sure how accurate that is. Make me an offer?

I’ve been running the Toyota tonneau cover for a while (5.5’ bed). If I were going to do it again, I’d try to find a 4 piece, hard cover because the tri-fold (with the small piece for leaning up against the cab, isn’t quite short enough to allow mountain bikes in the back. This means it always needs to be propped up against the cab and you can’t see out (I don’t have the fancy mirror either). I’m sure some people wouldn’t care but doing longer trips is problematic because at higher speeds the tonneau cover struts don’t actually hold it so you have to remove the cover entirely.

I travel 10 miles on dirt/ gravel roads to get from our house to the main county road. I would be concerned that the dust collected on top of the Retrax would eventually build up and clog up the mechanism. Any thoughts?

Been debating for a couple of weeks which way to go. Wanted a hard folding panel style tonneau cover as going to a 5.7' bed makes me a bit nervous already. That rules out a retrax. Main thing I debated was if I'd actually get my money out of a diamondback. Well today I decided against the diamondback and ordered a Bakflip MX4. They gave me a further discount after messaging using a live chat function. $999 plus tax and they said approximately 20 days for delivery.

For what it's worth, I say invest in the "fancy" mirror. When I bought my truck, I thought the digital mirror was just a tech gadget / gimmick. It has quickly become one of my favorite features and a must have for future vehicles. Aside from solving the issue of seeing when the cover is folded, it provides such a better view just as a rearview mirror. The field of view is so wide, it comes very close to eliminating a blind spot all together.

Count me in too! I bought one this morning and quite surprised realtruck and their rapidship had created a shipping label a couple hours later :D

For its "price to performance," I wish I found these posts sooner. It would've came in handy when I mobilized for work, from OKC to eastern CO a week ago. Heavy rain til Kansas and gentle showers rest of the way, however, confident with my tetris abilities to stack work gear and half a home in the cab :)

If you want to use the bed cleats you have to get the OEM or one like it where the install includes brackets to drop the rail.

There is an option of installing low profile cleats with this cover, which is what I’ll do. I just need to find some I like. F47A335C-6537-4E4C-ADC9-E3C613647A96.jpgthis is all I’ve found so far in my quick search

Wish I would have known about the exclusive forum pricing before I ordered my undercover ultra flex from RealTruck.com a couple weeks ago . I received and installed it last week.

I'm with ya! I spent almost 3 grand on there recently...even a small percentage would have been nice.

Installed the gator soft cover today. Super simple install, easy operation and very small footprint when rolled up.

Glad I didn't but the expensive ones personally.

Everyone, order from Santana! He helped me resolve a case and got me a retrax pro xr for a killer deal. Did not expect it to be so good! I ordered from him yesterday afternoon. It shipped out almost immediately and it’s out for delivery today…I cannot believe the level of service and speed. Amazing!

trust me when I say this - you won’t get a better deal and better personalized service than this. I’m shocked how easy and great it was. Send him a PM asap if you need anything from realtruck.com

Post back here on how it is. Considering getting this instead of the Bakflip to save money, but worried about water.

So I did no adjustment of the gator, and it was my first time installing something like this so I didn't pay too much attention to the seals, but I felt pretty good about how it looked out of the box.

I picked the most expensive and longest option on the touch free carwash and it blasted the truck with water and soap for many minutes and surprisingly very little water was in the bed when I opened it up. I blocked the drainage holes for the test but didn't take any pictures this time.

I think with some basic adjustments and maybe some extra foam pads this would be a pretty reliable cover, as I don't think even the heaviest of rains come close to a direct, and close firing water jet.

I'll play around with it on the weekend and run it through again but I'm very happy with it.

And in case anyone is worried it's not just old stock sent out, it comes with a separate sheet for the 2022 model and some extra foam inserts for the corners near the cab where there is a little L-shaped curve gap so they at least did *some* homework.

I’ve got the same cover and took it through a similar wash a few days ago - just some minor leakage around the tailgate and cab side. Nothing crazy that’s going to ruin your stuff. I do think a few tweaks and some extra rubber seals and this thing is 100% waterproof. Not bad for about $250!
