This is so true. I went to best buy a while back and asked the person at the cash register why there where 100 people outside in tents.... all for a graphic card for a PC. Not even an entire computer. I get that it's a big deal.. but he said they don't even expect to get more then 2 or 3 for day one and there was 100 people waiting for 2 plus days.

I told my dealer after they mentioned that they were choosing not to do mark ups, "that is why I am here. I will not pay 6-12k for nothing. I will wait if there was a mark up"

 

i waited in multiple lines for graphics cards, xbox's, PS5's and switches. I probably made 10-15k reselling in winter 2020- summer 2021.

 

Sounds like you should be a car dealer. And people are bitching about dealer markups lol

Those GT3's did, and still do command stupid money. But prob the worse "gotta have it" mentality are the Hummer EV's that sold for $140-150k over what they paid.

Nope, just like adjustments you don't have to buy it. Could have stuck me with useless inventory.

Believe it or not folks pay for convenience.

 

After hearing a GT3 in person I'd have made out with the hot exhaust if I would have fit under the car. Completely get why some one would if they could.

 

Like I said, a good dealer/salesman will keep your truck out back away from people, no matter how ultra rare you think it is.

 

I really don’t think it’s a matter of convenience. Not the stuff you’re talking about. Not mad at your hustle. I waited out for an Xbox one. I don’t pay markup. The stuff you’re talking about is stuff parents buy for kids. And you get adults buy because their friends have it or hype it up. Scalping is slimy no matter how you shake it. Again, no hate from me. But wether you let yourself believe it or not. It’s messed up and takes peoples hard earned money away because you have free time I guess.

 

Picked up my 22 tundra platinum this evening. Traded in my 21 nightshade 4Runner loved it but missed having a truck and I couldn’t go back to a taco cause the cab was way too small.

Well awesome man! My Platinum was finished being built 4 days ago. Looked like it was starting its train ride up and over to my little corner of the country this weekend.

I actually just gave the platinum reservation to someone who has been swinging out and was on a 1 year wait list for a platinum hybrid. I made his day.

But go on and keep jumping to conclusions- it seems to be working real swell for ya.

 

I must say, the more 2022 pics and trucks I see in person, the more they grow on me. Nice trucks all!

I get it… I keep looking more and more- love the solar octane, but man the cushiness of the platinum would be nice!

 

platinum is nice and it has a few things I really want, but I prefer the console layout of the pro (don't know why they did that to the platinum and 1794), the seat design, exterior design, and the resale value of the pro. I think I'll wind up in a Sequoia pro so this if I don't decide to keep would hold over better.

 

I also hate scalping and won't participate in it. In general I don't care if a person stands in line to buy a couple to resale. Capitalisms and all that. I get pissed when it bots buying up an entire release with in seconds of dropping online. But they can keep it and I hope holding the bag when stock overwhelms consumer need. They still aren't as bad as oil and gas companies colluding to make record profits all while the US subsidizes to the tune of 20bil a year.

 

Easy there Jimbo, that gas ⛽️ makes those trucks go. I’m paying cash for my TRD PRO thanks to the oil company stocks and many others that I’ve owned over the last five decades. You see, these are PUBLICLY traded companies. You can have a slice of the pie too. The financial IQ of our country needs to improve!

 

You making money off of a publicly traded company doesn't make it okay for them to rob the public while sucking on our taxes. It's nice we all have the kind of income to be able to afford these nice trucks and have access to trading stocks, but that is a freedom most Americans don't have no matter how much you teach them about finances.

 

What are the differences in console layout 1794 vs TRD Pro??

Platinum/ 1794 have the cup holders like an 8 with a sliding cover for the area vs the other trims having them oriented like an infinity sign (8 on its side)

 

Save the drama for the clueless sheep. Dude, the Federal Government is in the bidness of redistribution of money. That’s virtually all they do. I worked there for 40 years. You and everyone benefits from the redistribution of federal income taxes which are paid by less than half of earners. The top 10% pay 80% and everyone gets a piece through hundreds of thousands of government programs, transfer of payments, subsidies, “free money” for all. To single out oil and gas or any institution, corporation or entity is insane. You must be a millennial!
