I got the matching 40v weed whacker to go with the new mower. Supposedly, you can just swap out the lower part of the shaft (yes, I said shaft) with other attachments like an edger.

 

Perfect!

 

Or a snowblower attachment which would be fun to use just to confuse your neighbors.

 

Be nice to have for that once every 5-10 years that we get 1/2 inch of snow.

Although I'd have to get up early to use it before the sun came up and melted it

 

My neighbor and I have the gas equivalent. Between the 2 of us we have most of the attachments and just share them. Its pretty handy to be able to swap out half the tool and totally change the function but to only have 1 fuel tank to worry about. I think the attachments are the same between the gas and electric, right?

Don't know if they're the same, just bought the electric. It does have that same square end shaft drive thingy though

 

Not sure since some gas attachments are the same size (diameter) and I believe I've seen some different attachment types too

I have the Milwaukee string trimmer. It's excellent. I run Honda for my lawnmower and snowblower, and Stihl for my chainsaw. Electric has it's limits.
