You are right about the fuel economy advantage with the Tacoma during these times.

I don't know if your situation would have been any different if the dealership wasn't paid already. The amazing amount of interest you would have earned would certainly have made me think twice about the insurance company paying me instead. You could almost have retired on that interest by now. Damn the missed opportunities!

I have an order in from Mar 24 for 3/16 plates. I have tried every way possible to make contact to correct the shipping address, but have not gotten any response.
Anyone else still waiting from this far back?

I ordered on 3/24 also, 3/16 aluminum powder black. I heard from Tyler on 4/26 and promised me 100% by June. I emailed him a week ago looking for an update and have not heard anything. I was hoping mine was in the big batch he referred to on Thursday this week.

Can someone here provide a complete list of the hardware that ships with a full set of shields, including the front skid and nut plate?

I installed mine (1/8 p-coated steel) with the standard hardware several months ago and was casually thinking to swap out the hardware with stainless hex-drive button head bolts. McMaster’s stocks up to 1/2” in lengths to 6”. Suspect these would be too small (diameter). Grainger stocks to 5/8 but in shorter lengths (getting pricey!).

Anyway, it’s just a casual thought, may never do it, just wondering if it could be done with easily sourced (affordable) hardware.

Thank you! About $40 for #316 stainless hardware through McMaster would do it then.
Gives me something to think about if I’m running short on other projects.

So a question for those who have already installed the front plate WITH a front skid plate. Who has done it WITHOUT the nut plate? How bad was it on a 1 to 10? I am anxious to get the plate installed but the nut plate I received was about 1/2" too long to fit the holes in the frame or either plate. I will be working tomorrow in inclement weather, so if there is something else I can do, I would really appreciate suggestions.

Would it be worth my time to make my own with JBL Weld or something?

Lol in part b/c the negative wheel offset is so crazy the exterior catches all the crap! I wiped my grime off of the plates before the pic...wanted it lookin pretty for Tyler - the least I could do after all my "they ship yet?" messages. My bud got his cats stolen nearby a couple weeks back so was antsy to get these on.

So the nut plate didn't line up you mean? I would NOT want to do the install without it, you'd need a bunch of extensions and have fun getting the socket on top, some have done it but I don't see how. I had a hard enough time getting the rear plate bolts on. I'm kind of dreading loosening those up so I can put some gasket material between the two to stop tinning when I hit bumps. I'm hoping I they flex enough I can just bend them some to stuff some rubber in between.

Thanks. I did order one, but it came in with a defect. The holes are about 1/2" too far apart. It was so far off, I didn't even attempt assembly. The bolts screwed into the plate did not even fit into the notches in the front of the shield. I am sure Tyler will make it right, but I know he is insanely busy and I am very anxious to get the plates on. Next door at work had the cats on their company cars stolen twice this spring (all overnight vehicles). I commonly work very late.

I can cut a piece of 3/16" aluminum, drill holes, and JB Weld nuts on (I can't think of another way to bond steal to aluminum). Since I won't be using any heat, I can use lock nuts. The only part I am not sure of is if the flex in the aluminum will break the adhesion of JB Weld to the aluminum when the bolts are tightened.

I’m not sure what your problem is but I installed the two Valhalla plates with a RCI front shield last June without nut plates, ie before nut plates were made. I used a wrench to hold the nut on the inside and a rachett on the bottom. It was a tight fit but doable. My arms are not that big tho. So I fit. I have a 18 Tundra TRD factory suspension.

I got it done with a Valhalla's skid and front plate, and no nut plate. I have average sized hands and arms, so ymmv. PM Tyler if your nut plate needs to be replaced. Happy wrenching.

I think we got it figured out.

SO! I spent most of the day yesterday powering through messages and emails, at about 9:30 last night I cleared the last one, I am very glad to have that off my shoulders. I am shipping plates today and I am very much looking forward to clearing some of this back log. Thank you for everyone hanging in there
