Decided to crank the ol’ 2.0’s up a little and noticed this on the passenger side. I’ve been nice to these coilovers! My truck is basically a pavement queen besides a couple to three times a year.

These coilovers are about a year and a half old. Do you think Toytec will warranty this?

I notice no issue while driving. Tomorrow I was planning one of my rare off road trips to the mountains. Should I postpone? Thanks fellas.

    Not sure at this point.
I don't even think there should be any play in that area...

The driver side moves similarly but not AS much as this side.

    Drivers side (good)
    Passenger side (bad)

It almost looks like a dust seal or something?

It’s a dust seal, or more likely to dampen noise when the shock wiggles back and forth in the mount as the coilover cycles. There will be a shock bearing(uniball with misalignment spacers) in the middle of the upper shock mount. No worries, pretty common on that style shock and can make noise till fixed.

And you really need to clean the threads before trying to adjust them. Get one grain of sand in there and they will no longer be adjustable coilovers.

Don't worry I spray them down with Free-All real well before turning them.

100% accurate. Its just a little o ring to help assist in keeping contaminates out of the heim. You can leave them, cut them out, or push them back in. Either way, DM me your order number and Ill mail out a replacement set of O-rings for you. No need to worry :)

BTW clean your coilovers before doing adjustments. The aluminum adjuster ring does not like junk building up on the threads, causes quite the headache.

Thanks for the reply, Toytec! Just to be clear, I did not turn the collars when they were this dirty. I'll send you my information. Thanks again.

Not too sure. I messaged Toytec back then and never heard from them. Been running like this ever since and haven’t had an issue yet…
